I can't share the Wilson love-in either....he had Muller passing to Muller in the first half - and bigged up a save by Neuer early on that would have been a routine take for my gran.
Keown was excellent though.
No I agree he was as bad as he always is, it must be his relatives on here. Keown was decent he certainly upped his performance.

You are pathetic.
Clearly I'm a relative of Tyler, Darke and Speight too then since I like all three of them as commentators so clearly must be a relative.
Or maybe people on here like his commentary because they enjoyed it.
And I think aside from one or two minor mistakes (which people on places like here may get their knickers in a twist over but would honestly not matter at all to the average viewer), Wilson was brilliant and fantastic as always at broadcasting the occasion and what a big moment it was. And I'm sure the average viewer would think he did a good job.
I was amazed by that stat too that he's only the 6th BBC commentator ever to do a Euro/World Cup semi-final - a pretty exclusive group he can now join.
I will agree though that Keown was good last night - and I never get the criticism of him on here. He is a solid hand on commentary - he might not necessarily be Andy Gray on there but you can rely on him to do a good job. He does seem to be BBC's #2 co-commentator judging by him doing last night's semi-final which is a perfect role for him as he's probably not got the 'star quality' to be a #1 in my view but is certainly solid enough to be a good #2/
And when you think about some of the trainwrecks BBC and ITV have had on co-commentary in this and previous world Cups (Carlisle, Townsend, Savage, Bright all spring to mind) you'd be mad not to take a competent co-commentator like Keown. And I'm sure BBC will take him to Euro 2016 - they seem to like him since he did last night's game and a co-commentary line-up of Murphy, Keown and Kilbane for Euro 2016 sounds decent.
Kilbane will get better and better, as a co comm as he works for BT too, and you would think he would be a co comm on Champions League matches too
If it was, I'd have linked to one where I was a bit wittier.
A live semi-final, that is. Some other people have done semi-finals for highlights, Tony Gubba in 1986 for one (as Barry Davies had gone back to the UK to do Wimbledon).
A lot of that is down to the dominance of Motson and Davies, of course. Next year Guy Mowbray (or whoever it may be) will only be the fifth person to commentate on the FA Cup Final for the BBC.
Who are The World Cup Six, by the way? And The FA Cup Five.
Yes, for BBC Television. The six live semi-final commentators are Wolstenholme, Coleman, Motson, Davies, Mowbray and Wilson. I say it's five Cup Final commentators, it's actually six because Tommy Woodroffe did a couple of pre-war finals. But after that it's the first four in that list again.
Yes, because...
Matt Smith is at the stadium with Ian Wright and Glenn Hoddle.
why would you stop scoring when you got 5, the manager, and all the players would want more i would of thought?
Some one ask him, when he was the Italian captain and lets say Italy were 5 up inside the first 25mins against Germany, would he of told his players, come on lads don't score anymore....
Don't think so.....pathetic statement.
you would want to score more and more.. not no more
completely ignoring the 2005 Champions League games between Arsenal and Bayern where Van Persie came on twice as sub against Demichelis's Bayern.;-)
I thought that too. They've been decent so far besides that though; the game has given them nothing to work with. Nice to hear them not rush to make ill-informed pronouncements about Mascherano's concussion too.
Not relatives, just people who disagree with you. Ok?
That's very nit picky, I wouldn't remember that!
You're not paid to;-)
Wishful thinking perhaps?
This game is definitely one for the purists. I can't see it getting many casual viewers.
