For me this so-called celebrity version is no longer watchable. When a cretinous ex soapie can score 16 on general knowledge it shows just how laughably easy the questions have become. Mastermind it certainly isn't.

Maybe with Sidney Sloane as a contestant, they planned for the whole series to go out on Cbeebies

Snap! Usually, we reckon if we can do 30-40% of general knowledge, it's a good result for Mastermind. But the celeb questions were very easy indeed.

Also the specialist subjects. For the first time ever, answering alongside someone who picked 'Bowie in the 1970s' I got 100%, which was more than the contestant. ;)

The general knowledge questions in celeb Mastermind are getting too easy - it's a grim day indeed when the questions on Eggheads are tougher than those on Mastermind!

I have to record this each day. I couldn't stand it if I had to watch it 'live' and sit through the awful witterings of John Humphries and the 'celeb'. Who gives a toss ? Just get on with the bloody questions will you !

Does the "comedian" have to do a silly pose (with an inane grin) on the chair so that we know that they are a "celebrity"?

    I thought about that one.
But if you won Gold, you'd have to. How many times a day does he get asked to show his jewels. :D

What public school did he go to? I can't see any mention of him having been to public school online.
