Record DVB Freeview stream in HD for Mac?
For years now I have been recording TV via a DVB stream USB as a hobby, usually interviews and performances by singers I like and uploading them to YouTube.
Although the quality is actually really good, its still SD and for ages I've been trying to find an HD solution but to no avail.
Any advice on how I could achieve this? I prefer using DVB streams as it means I don't have to fiddle about with discs. Any help would be much appreciated ;-).

Does this work similarly to a dvb-t usb stick?
No.
The software is not something you run on any form of computer. It runs as a replacement for the stock firmware on the Humax HDR Fox-T2 PVR. It extends the capabilities of the standard Humax PVR. As standard the Humax encrypts the HD streams it records and they are not able to be copied very easily off the PVR's hard drive.
The custom firmware allows HD recordings to be copied off the hard drive in a much simpler manner. You can do this by plugging the Humax into your broadband router and connecting to it over the network from your Mac.
So what you need is a stick like http://www.amazon.co.uk/August-DVB-T210-Television-Definition-Compatible/dp/B008D8K50Q or http://www.amazon.co.uk/PCTV-Systems-DVB-T2-nanoStick-Tuner/dp/B004C1176E/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1397954613&sr=1-2&keywords=DVB-T2
The Humax HDR Fox-T2 PVR that has been talk about above is a box more like a Freeview box you use with a tv that provides more functions that a normal Freeview box.
Thanks everyone for you're help, I've finally found a solution .
I doubt that since HD programming employs a different codec/file format.
