Project X

Has anyone seen the new Todd Phillips produced film, Project X?

I saw it yesterday and it's borderline moronic. It's a shame because there's a decent, fun movie in there somewhere; it's just buried under pointless exposition and then ridiculously over the top destruction. And the worst use of the found footage format EVER.

Also it's been terribly mismarketed which will probably mean that it doesn't do half the business it ought to.

I have extended thoughts on, basically, why not to watch this film here...

Amazing movie. Absolute fun to watch from start to finish. The party going out of hand thing is fun, and then it hits the OH MY GOD moment and goes stratospheric, it's just amazing. Can't recommend it enough.

I used to love this movie when I was a kid.

    Chimpanzees flying planes - brilliant!

I was worried by the critics reviews, but I decided to see it and I thought it was good.
    7/10 for me.

Me too. I seem to remember it being the first ever movie to be shown on Sky Movies.

However I think they are talking about a different movie :)

If you take it for what it is which is a stupid, dumb movie about a party which gets out control pretty fast, pretty quick then it's fairly enjoyable. But i have to admit i was thinking 'only in America' could they get away with making a movie like that. I'm surprised there haven't been more reviews on here for this since it's marketed towards teens but the film is an 18! Lol.

There's only one real Project X, and it's got Matthew Broderick, Helen Hunt and some chimps in it.

It's a terrible knock off of Superbad and The Hangover. The difference is...those films were funny.

I hate the stick this film gets on places like IMDB and critically. I don't know what people bloody expected, an epic 1920s film? And loads of people say "This proves all teens are rude and vile people". Talk about generalisations! Things were obviously exaggerated for entertainment!
Just watched it again and still really enjoyed it second time.

    The soundtrack is pretty incredible.
