Soak them for a few hours in Daz, then give them a hot wash.

If you smoke, it's probably the nicotine.

Wash the pillow cases and wash yourself-regularly. Yellowing pillow cases? How disgusting.

I don't smoke, never have. I bath every day and wash my hair every other day

So far the advice has been poop.

Do you have oily skin? Maybe wash your face in the evening before you go to bed.

I thought of trying net curtain whitener, would this be strong enough?

It's just sweat, isn't it? Everyone does it, some more than others.

I don't understand the question. Are your pillowcases turning yellow despite being washed? Or are they turning yellow whilst in use? If this is the case then I suggest a hot wash.

Just wash them with a scoop of Vanish in the wash. I always use Vanish Crystal White when doing my sheets.

It might not be your pillow case thats yellow ... but the pillow itself ? Have you checked. After a year or more of having your face on it soaking up sweat and grease, you might need a new one ?

It's just sweat. Are they not getting clean after being washed?

Get some pillow case protectors if you want to keep your actual pillow free from turning yellow as well (they also need washing regularly) ;)

It could be caused by earwax or hair oil as well.

Just put a pillow into a pillow cover before slipping it into a pillowcase.

Or use 2 pillowcases if you've no pillow cover.

Copthis1 you still around? My partner has same problem, he has a bald head and we reckon this is why. Try borax, as well as a good laundry whitener it has anti-fungal properties which helps. Don't hot wash your pillow cases, this will discolour them more, may even turn them greyish.

I'm guessing its your breath. Or you bought your pillow cases from Primark. Or you've got bad breath and bought your pillows from Primark.

Or maybe I rotate 180 degrees in my sleep and my dirty arse ends up on the pillow?

I thinks it my sweaty bonce, I have woken up ringing some nights.

OP, do you dribble in your sleep? I have been known to (:o) so now use pillow protectors under the pillowcase and they get washed at the same time as the bedding, now my pillows stay lovely and white!

ETA: D'oh, just seen that it's your pillowcases that are turning yellow rather than your pillows. In which case my advice is of no use whatsoever... sorry!

Need a fundamental change I suspect. Just changing the pillow cases is unlikely to help if the oils are soaking into the pillow below too...

So buy new pillows, new pillow protectors and new pillow cases.

    Wash your hair daily.
Wash your face before going to bed at night.
Use a fresh pillow case every 2-3 nights.
    Wash the pillow protector weekly.

Wash your bed linen at 60c with biological detergent. Alternatively, just put your pillows in with the 60c towel wash - the additional agitation of the towels against the pillows will help shift the grease.
