Probably best know for marrying two Oscar winning actresses, this French actor has died aged 87.
He was a 25 year old law student in 1953 when he met and married 41 year old Ginger Rogers when she was vacationing in France. She soon got him a screen test with MGM and they were both soon appearing together in Twist of Fate (aka Beautiful Stranger) filmed at Shepperton Studios.
They were divorced in 1957, but by then he appeared in Les Girls with Gene Kelly, Kay Kendall and Mitzi Gaynor. In 1958 he appeared in the hit musical Gigi, and in 1959 Thunder in the Sun with Susan Hayward.
In 1964 he married actress Dorothy Malone, and they went on to have two daughters, they were divorced in 1969 with acrimonious proceedings played out in the press.
He then moved onto TV, his last professional appearance was in The Doris Day Show in 1969.
He became a naturalized American citizen in 1953, and left show business in 1969 and became an Executive with the Revlon Cosmetics company where is older brother was president and chairman.
