I didn't watch the match last night but I have seen replays.
Am I cynical but how can you stamp on someone when your backs turned and running towards the ball? Is he supposed to not compete?
Yes he stood on him but it's not a stamp as in thrust down to inflict pain on purpose

He clearly stamped on skirtel. It was there for all to see, and according to 5live its the 7th time he has stamped on an opponent this season
So don't see what fuss is myself

Every ex pro I've heard comment on this has said he would of known exactly what he was doing.
Hope he misses the final, great player but a right nasty bugger.

Brings back memories of a comment made by another golfer (forget who), about Nick Faldo. ' Great player, shit bloke'.

I always find it a bit cringey when football commentators say things like 'He didn't mean that' when a player steps on another player.

How do they know, are they psychic?

And the media completely ignore skirtel's leading elbows last night.

I'm beginning to think Jose has a point.

I agree, he stood on him but it was never a stamp.

Nice attempt to divert attention from the real issue, but not surprised

Apparently the FA disagree, he is only being charge for the 'stamp' on Emre Can.

Any more stamps and we'd have been entitled to a free coffee.

The worst one is when the manager says 'He is a nice boy really, it is not in his nature to do that'

Well clearly it is in his nature because we all just seen him do it.

however in this case I am not sure he set out to stamp on him.

The video looks bad but costa is already in the air with his leg as skirtel's brings his leg out and under Costa's leg which is coming down. At the speed it happens how does Costa know that Skirtel is going to bring his leg down in just that place.

If skirtel's leg was already in place when Costa jump and stamped on it fair enough. However if Skirtel did not bring his leg in just that position costa would not have stood on in. Costa does not move in an unnatural why to suggest he was going out of his way to stamp on it.

Ah yes having seen this one that is a clear stamp. Emre is already on the floor and even off the pitch at the time and Costa moves his foot from the pitch to the sides lines and directly down on to his foot. That is very clear in my view not shocked the FA have charged him with that.

Well, of course he was going to be charged after Sky replayed the incident until sufficient outrage was reached.
It's not the first time they've used such dirty tricks. They played Essien's foul on Hamann over and over until he was banned, and they replayed Drogba's rant over and over until the ref had sufficient smokescreen.
Both Sky and the FA are a disgrace.

    Yeah, bloody Sky!

If they hadn't have kept replaying it, no-one would have even noticed Suarez biting Ivanovic, and he wouldn't have been banned.

    Disgrace indeed!

That summed him up back then.

Mourinho is doing a fair job imitating SAFs famous diversionary skills.

Talking of them diversions, is there less diving but more stamping at Chelsea just now ?

It's only a matter of time until a player perfects the Dive-Stamp.

    *falls off chair*

I really do admire the average Chelsea fan's rabid insistence on turning absolutely everything into a conspiracy

    A complete media witch hunt.

    All I want is consistency.

I expect skirtel, Lucas and Henderson to receive their bans for breaking the laws of the game too.

If a player must be banned, ban them from the next cup game, not the league. It just punishes the teams who play more cup games

    A 12 month ban then?

2 stamps. Suarez only had the 1 bite per game.
