Transfer Deadline Day - Best Day of the Season

I'm not expecting this year to be as good as last - no kidnappings at Manchester Airport etc... but with Utd & Liverpool looking a bit suspect and Spurs & City riding high, there could be plenty of activity today.

Share the rumours you've heard and any confirmed moves.

Here's what I've seen so far:

Dunne to Villa (99% certain)
Yebda loan to Portsmouth (from Benfica)
Ben Haim to Portsmouth
Kranjca, Petrov to Spurs (rumour)
Bentley to City (rumour)
James to ?

Portsmouth could be doing the most business today. Chelsea have been very quiet all summer and now that the Spanish transfer window has shut, could they throw over a cheeky bid to Munich for Ribery?

    'Best Day of the Season'

I'd prefer they moved the deadline to midnight.

I like the late-night tension. 5pm is dull.

D Collins to Stoke from Sunderland.

French paper L'Equippe has printed an interview with Ribery in which he claims to not be very close to his manager at BM. A precursor to a move today? Nah.

FA CUp Third Round for me is the best day / weekend

Anyway, yes, prefer it to be a midnight

Deadline day is Sky Sports News at its worst. "We now go over to some chap outside a ground flanked by jobless wonders. Any news?"

    "Nah"

"Ok, here's that dick with all the phones. What's happening?"

"Lots of action in the last few minutes, I just downloaded Google Maps on this one and set the vibrate to max on this one"

"Swish. Now let's go to Big Ben to chime the transfer window closed"

Ivan Klasnic should be signing for Bolton today on loan with a view to a long term deal.

If for some reason that deal falls through, I understand that Jemaine Beckford will be coming in instead.

Kranjca is apparently having his medical now, so it looks very positive.

Very strange day for a Spurs fan, we not selling off our best players - weird feeling

I still wonder whether Utd or Chelsea have a big signing lined up and are leaving it to the last possible minute to avoid City hijacking the deal as they did with Robinho and tried with Berbatov

Frank Riberry would be the obvious guess....

Rumours are that one big money deal will be done in the North West. City are the obvious name in the frame, but Hughes has already said he's done all the deals he's going to. Everton & Liverpool both need players but Liverpool don't have any money and Everton never seem to want to splash the cash anyway. My totally unbiased hunch would be that if anyone is going to do business it'll be Liverpool but it won't be a major signing.

Liverpool to sign David Villa on loan for the season using money from sale of young hot shot Lauri Dalle Valle to Fulham

    :D

They've replaced the Requiem for a Dream theme so the fade to the ad breaks with the breaking news ticker at the bottom saying an over the hill, ex Real Madrid player is in talks with Bolton will be less dramatic than previous years.

Possible with Arjen Robben on his way to Bayern

Robben's already gone to Bayern - he went days ago and already played (and scored) for them in their match against Wolfsburg

I think he means the Ribery move is possible because Robben's gone.

I'll need to know that is the correct bus route before I believe that.

Yeah, that one made me smile. Obviously took the wrong slip road onto the M62!

You can tell how desperate they are. Anyone see the guy outside Spurs?

"A few moments ago a black Audi pulled in with a license plate ending in MWU - MattheW Upson?"

Aye, Matthew JAMES Upson, could probably scrape together enough cash for a private plate that actually contained his own initials!!
