Question on mobile numbers

Right, where do I start. Firstly, i've been looking in on DS for a while but finally took the plunge and joined!

I have a weird fascination with mobile numbers ( and buy/sell gold numbers) and had a little question that I haven't been able to get the answer to.

Right, it's to do with the ranges of numbers before Ofcom introduced the 07 prefix.

Say for example 0973 and 0966 on Orange, does anyone know when they were inroduced first, and the others if they know? like Cellnets 0850 etc.

Any help will be appreciated! Thanks

Cheers for that. But that and Ofcom's S7 Spreadsheet has been my bible! I'm looking for the years all of those were introduced first, there's nothing documented out there that I can find.

    Cellnet:
    0860 - introduced Jan 1985
    0850 - introduced Jan 1985
    Other original prefixes include 0402, 0585, 0589, 0802, 0803 etc

    Vodafone:
    0836 - introduced Jan 1985
    0831 - introduced Jan 1985
    Others include: 0374, 0378, 0385, 0421, 0448, 0467, 0468, 0498, 0979 etc

    Mercury One2One:
    0956 - introduced Summer 1993
    0958 - introduced Summer 1993
    0961 - introduced Autumn 1993

I could probably remember more but I just woke up!

Shows how long I've been in the business! (and yes, I probably have a prefix fetish too :D)

Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much. These have all been added to my info that I have compiled, and now have details for those.

Things like the 0931, and 0932, were they introduced after the 0961 for example, or were they all around the same time? Sorry for being a pain!

Not sure where this fetish started for prefixes for me, but i'm completely ott about them (sad I know!)

They were introduced after, I think in the following 18 months IIRC.

Thanks for that. You have given me info that has been really helpful. Never thought I would have found it otherwise!
