Opening a can with a broken ring-pull

This is irritating the heck out of me. I bought a can of spam and the ring pull must have been faulty because it came clean off in my hands earlier. Now I can't open the can and it's driving me completely mad.

How do I open it? :(

you can also open it by using a hammer and screwdriver. just punch the grooved lid at the grove till the lid starts to split. use a strong spoon / fork handle to prise open.

Good idea. Say you can't open it and they'll give you another. You hope.

Buy a new tin of spam!!

It's not worth taking tools too. My ma sliced open her thumb and needed stiches while doing the same with a tin of corned beef!!

corn beef cans normally open on the side and the metal is thicker there than the lid. yes do not like corn beef cans even when the key works .:eek:

Darn, don't have one lying around... :D

Thanks everyone, I inventually pierced a hole in it and knifed it. Took about an hour! Luckily, I know my own clumsiness and don't allow myself around sharp knives, so I didn't injure myself :D

A "stab" type can opener should work.

Failing that, look in your e-mail, there may be some new spam in there.
    :p:D
