my friends cat has started pooing in the house, my friends put a litter tray out for the cat but the cat keeps pooing behind a chair in the living room...any ideas as to what`s wrong?
Agreed....I`ll suggest that, but I have a feeling that it wont go down to well with my friend who has a tendency to be rather housepround:D
When our cat got old and a bit daft, he would make a right old mess with his litter tray and kick it everywhere. He was a huge cat too. What we did was give him a kid's stakka tub type thing instead with his litter in the bottom. He would hop in and out no worries, and no more crap and litter everywhere.

I will suggest putting the cat litter tray behind the chair and possibly a deeper tray too.
Personally, I think the cat needs to see the vet who might be able to suggest why the cat has started soiling in the living room. However me friend is hard up and can`t really afford vets fees at the mo..................neither can I, which is why I don`t have pets!
Where the tv is put a puppy pad down just to keep it clean on the floor if a litter tray can't fit. I would also say a trip too the vets too
Thank you for all your suggestions....phoned my friend up and passed on your suggestions to her...like you, I feel it`s essential that she take the cat to the vets asap.

A friend of mine is having trouble with her cat urinating indoors. She is very tiny and I reckon that her body has not fully developed either. The thyroid is causing her a lot of grief and I reckon a lot of pain too.
The problem with cats is, we don't know how much they are in pain unless they make a noise and some of them do not.

Agreed.......if it was my cat, I`d take the poor thing to the vets..it`s the only way to find out what`s ailing the poor creature...think I might have to go round with a hat to collect the money so my friend will then take the cat to the vets.
Well, saying goes doesn't it? You need to be able to afford a pet these days, if you can't afford to visit the vet then why on earth get a pet that just baffles me.
Sounds like puss is stressed out or I'll and needs to see the vet ASAP.

Well, dollyloves shoes...are you related to Imelda Markos?:D....I cant afford vets, so ,therefore, don`t have pets...but me friend, being a dizzy blond, isn`t the sharpest chisel and took the cat on without giving it much thought. I can only hope that maybees her daughter will cough up and help out, cors the poor cat defo needs the vets attention.!

I suggested that the cat might be going senile..the cat is about 13 years old.

I agree. I thought my cat had a bit of dementia but it turned out to be high blood pressure and thyroid levels. He went blind because of it.
