Everything David does is so nuanced - He's a master of reaction as well. I once saw him filming a scene, and whilst they were setting it up, he was having a laugh with a crew member, and then as they were preparing to shoot, his shoulders hunched a little, his eyes squinted a bit and his face changed into "Roy"... it wasn't hugely obvious... it was so subtle, and yet so fantastic to watch him inhabit his character... I really hope they make a BIG fuss of him at the Soap Awards this year,

Having seen others "acting" (or not) yesterday evening, I thought of David; what a contrast; he can convey an emotion with hardly a change of expression, with no need to shout or screech unlike others.

Indeed, he is an actor!
Your other remark, (underlined), could apply especially well to the 'performers' in EE, (the soap that has lost its way),a sad and somewhat untalented group generally way out of their depth.
The pair also jointly received an award in the Best On-Screen Partnership category. They have played husband and wife Roy and Hayley Cropper on the show for 16 years.
Coronation Street won in the Best Storyline category for Hayley death.
The duo's joint performance also earned them a Bafta Award last week in the Soap and Continuing Drama category.
Comments
