His trick was just escaping from a straijacket (the rest was just showmanship), and there are quite a few ways to do that

He knows how long it takes to get out straight jacket so he makes up a story using the number...
At the point of reaching up to 'escape, there is a button which releases the jaws of the bear trap a couple of seconds later.
If he hadn't got out of straight jacket in 53 seconds nothing would have happened

Those ' jaws' were never going to kill him. They never even got close to closing. :p:p

Well this is a very old routine with a novel slant ,mind you David Copperfield has done this over a cage of Bengal Tigers ,in the past !

I'm guessing his straight jacket was tied to just the right tightness which would have enabled him to get out of it easily when he needed to get out of it. I also think he'll have had an earpiece in with someone counting down the time for him.

It was a good trick - a twist on a Houdini act. Had he repeated his tricks from before we'd all of felt a bit let down.

    It wasn't a trick apparently.
He stated before he did it that it wasn't a trick.

I can't imagine it would've done much harm to any "human bears" who had the misfortune to get "trapped" in it. A couple of light bruises, maybe....

I like the guy, but there's nothing remotely original about any of his routines, although he did the doves act in his audition particularly well.

I thought the impressive part of the performance was the timing.

And your questions are badly formed.

    And you're rude!

So, even if you ask a correctly formed question, you'll now have to wait for an answer from someone else.

I suggest you look at your own faults before you criticize others.

And your tits are as flat as two small pancakes.

    Have a nice day.

No. I was looking at your questions.

If you didn't get the answer you require, you should look at the questions you asked.
