    Is it ever ok for a woman to hit a man? Self defence is the answer but if we want gender equality it should be based on the physical strength of the person not gender.

    Not this again it was asked a few days ago. It is never ok to be violent with anyone of either sex.

    There is nothing wrong with restraining someone.

    I assume the poster who replied to you was talking in a general scenario rather than in a situation that you asked, in such a situation you describe in this post any type of force would be acceptable by anyone in order to save lives.

    In general should people hit each other what ever their sex , no , if it is self defence in order to get away from your attacker or preserve life then yes violence is ok if that is what it takes .
