11th Doctor One Year Old On New Year's Day!

I know it's a couple of days early but I'm going away for a few days for New Year and childishly wanted to be the one who started this thread!!!!! :D:D:D

I know there's been loads of threads on Matt Smith recently and how well he's done, but it's One Mighty Year on New Year's Day since those fantastic first few minutes at the conclusion of The End Of Time.

So I'm saying it two days early, Happy One Year in the role Matt Smith and well done!!!! It's been a great first year!!!!!

    Have to agree. I liked him from the start, but he really grew on me by the time we had Vampires of Venice, and since then he has gone from strength to strength.

    I prefer him to Tennant already, although Eccleston will always have a special place as my first Doctor :)

    I still find he's a better Doctor and actor when bouncing off older guest stars (and kids, strangely) but I have grown to love him in the role.

    It certainly has been a great year for Matt, i wasn't sure to start with when i first heard of his casting, i was very unsure indeed, i was one of those who thought he seemed a bit to young, those first few moments led me to give him a chance and it didnt take long to make me realise how wrong i was to doubt him once the new era began properly and now i can't wait for series 2 of Matt !

    Happy one year to him being the Doctor on screen, and happy two years for being announced as the Doctor...I had a great feeling about him then and there...and he hasn't dissapointed!!!!

    Moffatt has ruined it for me. First time ever I have not watched a series all the way through and the first time ever I fell asleep watching "A Crapmas Carol".

    It is not Doctor Who! It is some sort of ghastly nightmare.

    As for Matt Smith as an actor, he is enjoyable. It has to be the terrible writing.

    He was great in Christopher And His Kind.

    Got to agree with this. Smith great, Moffat not.

    I got the DVD early and then a day or so later they moved the date to January for some strange reason.

    I've been lucky to have it since November and Matt Smith is fantastic in it.

    Ah okay, was getting worried I might have missed it somehow, because I've been very much looking forward to.

    Series 5 is easily the single most quotable series ever, the dialogue given to Matt was superb! :)

    I love the bit when he's seeing Jeff's personal collection on his laptop too.

    I agree, so many fantastic moments, impossible to remember them all. I adored series 5.

    Didn't really like his appearance in TEOT Pt2 as after all the sadness of the regeneration seeing him dance around pulling his hair felt like someone trying to clown about at a funeral, wrong tone for that ep.

    If his post regen scene had been at the start of The 11th Hour I think I would've took to him more.

    Still I warmed to him over the course of the series and really gelled with him on Christmas day...

    Though no-one cares what I think, One year already? Wow, time flies....:eek:
