New Grandson imminent

Just heard from my daughter that she's having contractions every 30 mins, and I'm officially on alert for the hospital-run.

She's been in slow-labour for a coupla days now and has been told by the midwife to head off to hosp. when they are down to 10 mins apart...

Tick...... follows tock...... follows tick......

Could be a long night :D

    Thanks Mrs. T. :)

About 10 mins after I posted that, I got a phone-call to take her to the hosp.

Not as 'imminent' as we first thought - they're keeping her overnight, but baby not expected to make an appearance at least until tomorrow.

If you want to have a practise while you're waiting, i could send you a few blackbags full of grandchildren.:D

Can I point out that the details we want are weight, time of birth, reaction of father and possible name and gender of the child as well as, 'mother is doing well'. :)

I don't want to return to this thread to hear about stitches, pain, blood or the mother's intimate gynaecology. :o

    LOL - thanks
Already got a couple - this one will be the first boy though.
IMHO.... 'Grandad' (or 'Grandy-pops' as the 3yo calls me) is one of the best jobs in the world :D

Unfortunately, there is gonna be blood and stitches SN.
Apparantly the contractions have eased off, and it's now looking like being a bit of a wait...
This ain't the first problem she's had with this - so unless she starts 'proper' labour in the meanwhile, a C-section has been scheduled for the 6th.

I'll post details here when baby finally decides to appear.
Defo a boy - unless the scans were BADLY wrong - and they've decided on 'Kieran' as his name.

Take a few days' break everyone :)

She got out of hospital last night, contractions have eased off, and a Caesarian-section is scheduled for Thursday morning (6th)
Kieran is apparantly smallish, but is doing fine

If there are any developments before the 6th (the docs don't think so, but you never know...) I'll let you know

Don't trust them, they are crafty little buggers, they lure you into a false calm. Just as you're relaxing they pop their head out.;)
