I am wondering why he's never been referred to a speech therapist?

I think he has as I am sure Mr Burton was on the phone to his speech therapist earlier.

This. (And thank you for realising that!)
Yes, good teachers like Mr Burton need all the recognition they can get.

Is it bad I want to nominate him for an award for that? :o:D

This show gets me every bloody week! been a fantastic advert for the job that teachers do!

It really does show the fantastic work that the majority of teachers do and what a hard but rewarding job it can be, i don't know what i will do next Thursday, really enjoyed Educating Yorkshire.

I was in secondary from 2001- 2006, we did a mixture of writing and using computers (not laptops). It's a good idea really.

I'm at uni and that same mixture still happens :D

I thought oral and listening (oracy) had gone out of the actual English GCSE exam?

It certainly has with our exam board

Yes, I posted before that S & L has certainly been stripped out of Edexcel. Don't know about AQA, Welsh Board etc. Which one does your school do?

We are in transition here now. I think we will shift from books to laptops/ipads within the next 3 years.

Same here Faye. Mine seems to get better (once I've treated it), stays okay for a while and then flares up again, sometimes same place sometimes different. Such a bugger.

WJEC - the most conservative and traditional of the boards.

I'm sure oral is gone from the exam.

There are awards for teachers, but most aren't in it for the glory, honestly (or the holidays - we work in most of them!). But I'd vote for him if nominated!!!
