Cant remember if it was yesterday or the day before but the woman who used to be on Corrie was on it. I got the feeling her and the irish women dont get along very well. The irish one seemed to keep making little digs about her anytime she was trying to talk. There was no tension or anything but everytime she made a dig there was no laughter or joking around like their best friends or anything.

    Who is the Irish woman?

My insider tells me they're all pretty much "diva"-like. Their on-screen "friendship" is just that "on-screen"... It's Daily Mail in-vision... It would be nice to have someone serious discussing a serious topic... Why 4 lightweights? It's actually sexist TV as it gives a totally false impression of what women are (bimbo airheads...)

I'd just like to know why anyone thinks it's acceptable for women to talk about men the way the LW panelists do? I get more and more disgusted the more I think about the poisonous bile they are allowed to spout day in, day out.

This programme is just a progression from the 1960's one my mother used to watch. It had woman supposedly in one another's homes (studio set) for coffee and a chat.

They were all middle class woman talking about trivia such as knitting and the cost of nappies. Arrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhh.

Is this topic's title ironic? What is _not_ irritating about this programme? It is just a vacuous stream of consciousness by and for the brain-dead.

Tabby gazes into the past and remembers HOUSEPARTY, broadcast from Southern TV's Northam studios in Southampton

Colleen Nolan was born in Blackpool so why does she put on the irish accent, just cos she has an irish name?

Out of all her sisters and brothers, she was the only one born in Blackpool. As far as I can tell, she doesn't have an irish accent.

She does have a slight lilt to her voice, in the same way that her sister Bernie does - but as already said, Coleen was the only sibling not born in Ireland.

used to like carol & her rants whether i agreed with them or not now she just constantly refers to her BOYFRIEND which is really annoying.
Denise just like to hog the limelight her flirting with Enrique was embarrassing.
Colleen & Jackie i quite light although they can be a bit smug
Sherrie & her scatty act is annoying

"Singer"? Do you mean Zoe Tyler? She goes on about all these shows she's been in, and we only ever heard about her when she was a judge on some reality talent show (can't remember which). She really is deluded, just like Jane McDonald, who thinks she's some mega superstar.:D

I watched it once and Colleen Nolan said she wouldnt want her son marrying a girl who would sleep with him straight away because she would be a tart! Nothing like women sticking together and being powerful is there!
Andrea McLean really does her journalistic research. They were talking about Thatcher and what effect she had on women. McLean said these marvellous things about her, when Jayne McDonald said she'd actually destroyed small communities and sold off council housing, Andrea said she well, actually she didnt know enough about that so couldnt comment. Careful Paxman you've got competition for your Newsnight chair!

Colleen Nolan is too big for her boots. When she talks about her kids I get the impression she is one of those mothers who won't admit their kids can ever do anything wrong. She was once talking about a party her daughter was at when Colleen deliberately tripped up one of the little girls for upsetting her kid previously, the spiteful woman. She does have digs at the others and she is not funny.

I agree. I have always wondered how Colleen gets away with being so spiteful Oh, I know, its because she's one of those witchy women who makes her catty comments with a smile. And if I was Carol Malone I would have decked her years ago. She's forever having digs about her not being married and 'heaven forbid' not having childen. She's a truely spiteful women --- size ten my a*se--- who should see a therapist instead of bringing her junk on the show. Rant over.
I also dislie the coffee woman.

Don't you mean Carol McGiffin? Carole Malone hasn't been on it for ages, and anyway she is married.

I want to see "Morally Ambiguous Men" a show broadcast every evening after the pubs have closed where a group of non-celeb Z listers can sit there, drinking lager and talking mysoginistically about women.

Hey, if we can have housewife misandry on ITV, why not that?

I stopped watching this ages ago because they have the same boring six on day after day for the past 6 years talking about the same stuff. When this programme first started it was interesting because you had a great variety of women on . Then boring ITV decided to have from 6 on day after day and it has become boring, tedious, mindnumbing rubbish.

Why with a population of 30,000,000 women do we have to endure the same boring prattle from Mcgiffen, Nolan etc.

I only get to watch it for about 20 mins on Thursdays and I did cringe when they were all asking Jane what she got for Christmas and she was saying "oh some chocolates and some underwear" while constantly flashing her HUGE engagement ring at the camera!

But they socialise outside of work and are always in each other's houses. And Coleen actually moved from Blackpool to Cheshire, so now they live quite close together. From what I've heard, they are close friends.
