Mobile Phone Problems

Right well just over a week ago, my camera phone. Its one of these http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0...CLZZZZZZZ_.jpg died on me. It just would not charge at all. My brother thinks the battery has gone.
Now I have my older phone on the charger (tried 2 chargers) and it seems to gone on the blink as well. All I'm getting is a blue screen and it turns itself off again. It doesnt even informing that its charging. Its one of these http://www.phonenews.com/phones/gsm/...nokia-6100.jpg
Do you think the battery has died on this one as well?
They are both phones that belonged to other family members before me.
Is it worth my while getting a new battery or should I just get a new phone altogether?

the first one was a motorola razr v3
the other one is a nokia 6100
