Hello Sorry to be a pain,
But My father in law has had the Humax PVR-8000T For almost a year and could not get it to work for more than an hour with out locking up.

He gave up after about a week and went back to cable.
He was going to throw it away last wek when I said I would look at it.

So far its worked ok. But it needs the latest software. and yes you've guessed it I've just missed it.

Could anyone tell me when the next update is scheduled, Or where i could find the Info.

Thanks

    Big problem there.

Don't have the leads to do this.

Or is there an easier way.?

Now The box has stopped showing some channels. Ie. ITV3 has stopped can only see the picture if you press 'i' for info and theres no sound.

Also any of the channels where you can press red for interaction go blank after a second or 2 and all you see is the 'press red' in the corner.

No Idea if Humax will repeat this again.

However all you need is the 9 pin nullmodem cable such as:

Link to Maplin, expensive from there, but available on ebay or other computer online stores.

    And

An adaptor cable available free from Humax (I have just checked with my contact and they are still available)

    EDIT:

What software version do you have now?

    Further edit:

Link to product on ebuyer, a lot cheaper.

    Go to:-

    http://www.dtg.org.uk/retailer/download_schedule.pl

This will give you upto date information for OTA transmissions for all manufacturer's set top boxes/PVR's.

    *Ridgeback*

    Thanks for that.
Only showes the next 2 weeks though. so I will keep an eye on it.

Ebuyer comes up on top again.
Did the other connector come with the digi box or was it an extra.
(other wise get the father in law to look for it)

In case any other forum watcher is about to make an idiot of themselves as I have just done .....:o

It might be worth reminding viewers that this thread is talking about the 8000, not the 9200T. You don't need the free adapter cable that Barry is talking about for the 9200 ...

... and guess who just rang customer support (0870!!) to ask for one?

    T'other Barry
