Favorite foods that are now discontinued?

I was in Tesco's earlier looking for some Cadburys crème egg ice cream, and was told by staff it had been discontinued. :o:confused: Safe to say I was more than a little peeved off >:( This ice cream had made it to be my all time fave, even better that B&J's choc fudge brownie. *Sigh* :( Anyway, it got me thinking about all the other great tasting sweet treats, and other delicious junk food that has disappeared off our shop shelves over the years.

I can remember so many. Anyone remember any of these delicious things?

Muller corner - Rhubarb pie
Bernard Mathews - Turkey Twizzler's (Damn you Jamie Oliver!)
Heinz- Baked bean pizza
Toffo
BN biscuits
Dairylea - Lunchables - Pizza
Walkers- Cheese and chive crisps
Gummy sweet burgers
Heinz - Rice pudding - in banana or chocolate.
Cannot remember the brand - Pack of 9 frozen pizzas- They came in a green bag and you could just throw them in the microwave for 2 minutes.
I cant for the life of me remember the name of this ice cream either. I think they were made by Walls, were the shape of a magnum ice cream, mint in colour, and had a gummy sweet or two on the front.

Also, I am curious to what you guys miss the most off our supermarket shelves?

I'm sure I've seen BN biscuits around still, but I could be wrong.

For me the two that stand out are Spira bars by Cadburys and Tesco used to make a sausage pasta ready meal that was amazing, but they stopped it years ago and the one they replace it with wasn't very nice.

BN biscuits are on tv all the time.

I agree with the Dairylea lunchables, what happened to the pitta pockets.
Also Muller corner Mississippi Mud Pie was the best, I see that they do a posh one called the same but doesn't taste the same.

Lucky Charms. Used to love them as a kid. I think they eventually got reclassified as a Class C substance.

One of mine would be the savoury toaster pockets, I think they were made by Pillsbury.

You can get BN biscuits, they've started making them again although I "think" it's only chocolate flavour they do (last time I think they did strawberry and vanilla?)

Flipper Dippers and Chukkas - chocolate and biscuits made by (Penguin) McVities.
Teeny tiny Hula Hoops (they came in a small bucket)
Also (this is a drink) but Diet Coke with Lemon, that was so tasty.
Milkybar Choo and Munchies, also as mentioned above the Spira bar and Mars Delight was nice.

He didn't put a stop to them, he just pointed out that they were full of horrible stuff and we shouldn't be feeding our kids them. I'd find it hard to disagree.

    Wotsits wafflers.

Cheesy wotsits shaped like waffles. How could they take them away from us?

But they were bloody lovely...a lot of stuff is bad for us, I don't see all those things being banned too.

I'm sure if you blend then boil some salt, fat, turkey giblets, turkey skin, msg an then refrigerate untill you're able to form it. Then roll in bread crumbs and bake for 20 mins you can have them again.

Although I am quite sure you are joking, ones palate could never go so under developed as to find flavour in such a mess.

You can still buy them. General Mills (the maker) stop importing them direct to the UK. So you have to go to those specialist American food importers who triple the price.

McCains microwaveable crinkly chips, came frozen in a box. Throw in the microwave for a few minutes, drown in mayonnaise - perfect post-pub food and no washing up required.

(They might still make them, but I've not even thought about them for years)

Can you still get turkey jetters? Breaded turkey shapes in the shape of a plane. My next door neighbour would only ever eat those, mashed potatoes and marmite. He was a weird kid.

BNs and the gummy burgers are definitely still available.

I loved Spira chocolate, also Cadbury's Fuse and Asteroids.

I think some of the chocolate like White Twix would have been a limited addition but those above were definitely not.

I'm also loving that Vanilla Coke is back

They had it in my Waitrose couple months back. I think it`s seasonal so expect it turn up again a month or so before Easter.
