Under the re-allocation rules, would this be offered to CSC to move Chart Show TV closer to True Entertainment, or would it go to ITV4+1 (the closest PSB)?
First of all it will be offered to public service channels and then to other associated channels, starting with BT (59), then Sony/CSC (61) and so on.
(i) Firstly, to any public service channel on a higher LCN than that which is in question (see paragraph 5.5 of this Policy); then if it remains vacated:
(ii)Secondly, to existing associated channels (as defined under paragraph 6.1 ) already on the platform at LCNs higher than the vacated LCN, in the following way:
- Firstly, to a channel which is associated with the channel which is immediately above the vacated LCN;
- Secondly, to a channel which is associated with the channel which is immediately below the vacated LCN;
- Thirdly, to a channel which is associated with the channel which is two positions above the vacated LCN;
- Fourthly, to a channel which is associated with the channel which is two positions below the vacated LCN;
And so on for up to five positions above and below the vacated LCN;
and then if it remains vacated:
(iii)Finally, to any new associated channel (as defined under paragraph 6.1) launching on the platform.
If you find the terms higher/lower confusing (because 1 is highest on the EPG, but has the lowest number), The Freesat EPG has similar/same principles and explains it more detail with this worked example:
310 - Bob's Movies Channel Provider - Bob's Movies Ltd ("Bob")
311 – Bob's Movies 2; Channel Provider – Bob's Movies Ltd
312 – Jill's Movies; Channel Provider – Jill's Movies Ltd ("Jill")
313 – Jill's Movies 2; Channel Provider – Jill's Movies Ltd
314 – Movies Gold; Channel Provider – Metal Movies Limited ("Metal")
315 – Fresh Movies; Channel Provider – Fresh Movies Limited ("Fresh")
Jill's Movies 2 is removed from the Freesat platform and EPG number 313 becomes vacated. FREESAT would apply the following order of priority in order to allocate EPG number 313. For the avoidance of doubt, none of the movies channels listed above are public service channels, nor has EPG number 313 been reserved by any channel provider following the removal of Jill's Movies 2.

Heart and Capital TV on satellite peak at about 3Mb/s during fast videos so the DTT output will always look a bit worse if it can't go any higher than 2mb/s.
Movies4Men looks terrible on all platforms though, that isn't a DTT specific problem.
Looks to me like the video PID (32) and PMT (256) have been removed since my last post - audio had already gone, presumably that dropped automatically when its input feed became invalid.
The LCN table entry still exists across all muxes, as does the service table entry and EPG data.
Presumably removing the PMT, audio and video is the simplest option to satisfy the regulators even though it leaves us with a dead channel until someone else takes up the slot.
Looks like Fire were intending to expand. I wonder what happened?
The name 'Fire' in conjunction with a TV service = Amazon Fire TV ? A bit unfortunate, as the Fire brand (linked to the radio station Triple Broadcast used to own) was around first.
Not the best client list for Media15: they also have The Africa Channel - the channel that's been broadcasting a black screen on satellite for the past month.

They were referring to the channel number (LCN) - not the multiplex space in Manchester itself.
Is Men and Motors that bad on Sky? It's frequently little more than a smeary mess on the GMAN MPX. Well below VHS quality at times.
There would only be space for reuse though on the Manchester MPX. LCNs are only numbers although I agree you can swap them around between MPXs.

It is still on the EPG, but when you switch to it, my TV says "invalid service"
