Bit confused.
Your in broadcast thread, but reading your second link, seems less about Film4 the TVs channel.
Rather Film4 the production company that invests into British movies and creates home made cinema.
Nice that the thread has gone off topic but effectively it should mean more home grown movies all the better for Freeview and Freesat. They always appear on Film4 about a year after release aswell The Inbetweeners springs to mind.
That joke ended BT Sports channel picked up the rights I'm afraid. Funny how it was the last of the old Setanta rights and took ages to get picked up forum members on here think every thread is about French football.

Inbetweeners 2 was released in August 2014 and Sky Movies have the rights from April 17th last year until September 30th.
Exactly.
Not sure what I can say.
Hope they broadcast them soon.
On an aside, I wonder if Four is privatised if Film 4 will make the sort of movies focuses on, about British life.
Of if it will need more commercial approach to sell overseas?
It will be nice if film4 hav more cash, both for financing domestic britfilms, and buying in a few more ''interesting'' imports. Them wot like Arthouse can get loads for free on Arte .......
It has been over Christmas. If the BBC/Channel 4 help produce/fund the film then usually it's on terrestrial TV first after the DVD/Box Office release date.
No issue with Film 4 getting extra capital- it's always struck me as odd as to why Sky having largely stayed out of the film production side of things despite having a strong presence in the delivery of films in this country.

Sky Pictures did bring us the all time classic "The most fertile man in Ireland"!

Why on earth would a film channel want French football??
I blame it on the boogie.
Because it's a darn better use of the funding than continually funding art house shite no one but posh luvvies are enamoured with.
Film four productions only exists to keep luvvies in work.

I would love to see Fillm 4 HD on freeview & freesat
Plus would like to see a Film 4 classic movies channel
TCM used to show American Wrestling on Friday nights.

As I said kept going to employ luvvies.
Is that chip on one shoulder or both? I can't tell.....
They'll still be watched in 10, 20, 50 years time.
French football wouldn't even be watched first time around.
Some of us would like the opportunity to sample both high brow, and low brow art....
I'm pretty certain it's been on channel 4 already
Only luvvies have chips, us mere mortals have pork scratchings.
