Just finished watching Todd Howard's speech at DICE 2012.
Sadly no DLC announcement as many were hoping for but one section of the speech was very interesting.
He said that when the developers/programmers of the game had the final product, they spent a week adding their own features/mods into Skyrim.
There were lots of great stuff they created, off the top of my head there were Mounted dragons, Lycanthropy perks, Fire and ice arrows, a werebear! Fat giants, Killcams for your spells and arrows, Completely dark caves for you horror seekers out there, the ability to become a vampire lord with more perks which looked awesome, Horse mounted combat, Spears and demonic Horses/mounts
The best of the lot though had to be a giant mud crab someone had created, biggest thing i have ever seen in the Elder Scrolls games (Actually Gigantic not a 5 foot tall mudcrab )
Just amazes me how this stuff never made it into the game, it all looked incredible, fun and varied.
Does anyone else give their items custom names when they create them?
Decided to call my ring the Imperial Ring.
Very creative I know
My Daedric Greatsword is called Excalibur.
One of my Daedric Swords is called Dante's Wrath (enchanted with Flame and Shock).
My other Daedric Sword is called The Sword of Hoth (enchanted with Frost and Shock).
My Daedric Bow is called Bow of the Hood (as in Robin).
Jeeze..I can't believe I'm actually morally struggling in a game because I'm told my afterlife will involve spending eternity protecting Nocturnal...:(
I mean...what if my character's soul wants to roam free???
Damn being a secret defender of the innocent while trying to do Thieves Guild!!!
I found a little exploit while playing through the main quest. When I was only my way to fight Alduin there's an Elder Dragon (just before you kill the Dragon Priest to enter the other realm) which doesn't seem to attack, or die, so you can pelt him with arrows till the cows come home
also, found my first Daedric weapon during that mission, so I'm happy with that ... even though it's a big war axe that I won't be able to wield cos my two handed skill is about 21!!

Guess I'm going to suffer if I do the DB :D:D
I wouldn't mind. I'd be hitting on her 24hrs a day non-stop.
I may get vapourised in the process but it's worth the risk
was playing last night and just got in to the thieves guild, i cant believe ive put over 20 hours of game time in and im only level 22!! this game is so big and distracting with its damn side quests and world to explore!!
Got my game patch on PS3 this morning. Nothing noticable execpt that some things now come with instructions as if you had never used them before (like Quest Log)

I'm sure it's on youtube somewhere.
Was he on top of a pillar? If so that's the one I spent ages trying to kill but gave up in the end. However, my arrows did kill the dragon priest behind him at the portal before I got anywhere near him
Let my character become a vampire and so far I don't notice much difference. Haven't come across any fire enemies so it's not too much of a pain and the extra powers are useful. Only at stage 3 tough so don't have to feed yet.

yeah that's the one funnily enough when I got to the dragon priest he was almost dead too when I finally went up the steps ... didn't really understand why
I can't see that here in work but looks great. Will they be on Steam Workshop do you think?
Hopefully at some point or the modders can pick them up if not.
Speaking of tyhe workshop, I'm impressed by how seamlessly it's integrated itself. I had about 15 manually installed mods pre-workshop, and I've added another 17 mods since without issue. Very good.
It just desperately needs a search function!

Er....I'm at 160 hours & level 50 & have only just made it to Solitude. I haven't been to Dawnstar yet
I've mainly been exploring and doing side quests. I haven't joined Thieves Guild yet and have done 3 Companion quests!
I've probably wasted so much time just wandering & with random encounters but it's so much fun.
This game is just so vast & I played Oblivion, Fallout 3 & New Vegas and thought they were big.

I never made it to the portal a load of drauge deathlords saw to that.
Finsihed Main Quest at level 25 this time (as soon as I could), so now I can adventure, and if anyone gives me grief, I summon a ******* down on their ass. Previous 2 times through, once I had completed Main, there wasnt much point in carrying on, so never got to use the new Shouts.

It sure does. Takes ages to scroll through them as there's so many and it's only gonna get worse. Even when filtered there's still 10 or so pages

Didn't think to do that. I may follow your example
Okay I bought this game over a month ago but haven't even took it out the box yet. With the patch released would now be a good time for me to start playing this? I've never played an Elder Scrolls game before so am not sure what to expect.
