Basically the red top media tend to publish whatever they want and then if someone complains to the Press Complaints Commission and it is upheld, they redress it by removing the offending article from their website. They rarely publish an apology in the main paper unless it really is an almost libellous piece. By the time the article has been removed from the website, the 'no smoke without fire' damage has already been done.
I think it's very dangerous for newspapers to be writing this sort of thing about 17 year old girls. If she was older and huge and still stuffing her face with fish and chips, I could understand them pointing something out..... but not a young girl who can't be anymore than a size 12-14.
Karen Carpenter had this kind of comment made about her, when she and her brother first started out.
And she died due to years of anorexia.
I think the girls in the photo all look healthy and beautiful.
Trouble is the media is too influenced by gay men designers who want women to look like young boys.
Not to do with weight but here is today's installment of the Daily Mail's continuing series of 'women who don't match up to our high standard so let's punish them by insinuating they are freaks' . I wonder who it will be tomorrow?

How ridiculous. She looks fine to me. Would they rather she resembled an oompa loompa like Jordan and Pish?
They don't have a consistent ideal of perfect beauty and ideal womanhood, they change the goalposts daily. So one day being orange is looking like Ronald McDonald but the next day, it's healthy. One day being pale and interesting is what we all should aspire to, the next day you look like a clown.
This is purposely done so that nobody can ever get it right whatever they do.
We can refuse to buy their scummage paper, but they are probably earning far more in advertising revenue from their website. We may be hating them but they are loving us for going there, so the more outrageous they are, the more we'll go and have a look and the more revenue they earn.
Anyway....let's start having a pop back, beginning with the Editor, Paul Dacre. How attractive, not.
Whole host of unnattractive DM Columnists here. That Quentin Letts is an utter baffoon with absolutely no grip on reality whatsoever.
Diana Pilkington was brave enough to put her name against Keeley Hawes bashing today (Keeley looked beautiful by the way). Pilkington not brave enough or too ugly to have her own photo on google anywhere. How shrewd. Most of the women bashers aren't brave enough to put a name to their articles or maybe they are just not so damn perfect themselves, but I am still looking.
Hmmmm...so much I could say at about that but I really don't want to stoop to their level. Alright...which one's the horse.
It gets worse... courtesy of Wikipedia...
Liz Jones is an English journalist and writer. She is currently the fashion editor for the Daily Mail. Previously to this she was the editor of British Marie Claire. She is a former anorexic [1] and suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder[2]

I am now so confused about what to do that my head is spinning round and round.
I love to be at the cutting edge and forefront of fashion so when the Daily Mail told me in September about the wonderful Sex and City inspired range that M&S were bringing out I just knew I had to rush out and buy them as soon as they arrived in store. It showed me all the fashions so they and I knew exactly what to expect and it praised M&S for its celebrity fashion link up.
Imagine my confusion and distress today when they are now telling me that these fashions are total badly made and badly designed crap and unwearable tat and no woman with a stylish bone in her body would go anywhere near them.

Absolutely pmsl. Just clicking on the links on Wikipedia for DM journalists and I've just clicked on "Julie Moult" and it takes me to this page. Brilliant.
The Daily Mail is toilet paper I cannot believe the hold it has over the UK. The girl looks fine, and its irresponsible to bleat on about weight and then criticise say Vic Beckham for being skinny (she is but that's not the point). Great message to send to teenaged girls in a climate where eating disorders are going through the roof. Yaay well done DM you pile of sh*t
It seems the Mail, whilst being perfectly happy to dish it out on a several times a day basis, are less happy to take it when directed towards one of their own.

No, they are quite happy to bully, ridicule and dish bile out against women's looks and age daily, but a few internet articles about this journalist's ridiculously incorrect reporting is 'bullying' apparently.
It is interesting that the Phoebe from Girl Band is not the only one to have done a 360 degree turnaround because if you now click on the original fish and chip link as in the original post, you now get to the apple, water and gym article.
It makes you wonder how many complaints they received about that article. Hopefully they may think twice about printing such humiliating and offensive rants in future but I doubt it.
All women should just boycott the Daily Mail then see how quick a turn around they have with their attitudes. Their journalists are all middle-aged and overweight and pig ugly be they male or female. None of them are in no position to sit and throw stones and they don't criticise pish tosh for being to thin, didn't you know, miss prissy nose is the perfect woman

How pathetic. It's all about moderation. Nothing wrong with eating 'greasy chips'.. just not every day!

Are they going to be providing daily updates on the contestants' diets now??
'Grasping for straws journalism' at its worst.

Please, anybody, tell me what I am supposed to do.

Schizophrenia is one of their strong points, as we know.
The journalist for that article could possibly do with keeping her head down for more than one reason.
Charlotte Ross the scared shiny person
She really peed someone off
Now we know they are taking the piss...
