I bought my copy on Wednesday and haven't even opened it yet because I'd purchased the TTV Guide day before and browsed through that instead. To be honest there's no real inclination to open the RT because the programming is so dire this year that I'll possibly just store the copy away unopened and in mint condition - shame about the cover which is also dire just like the programmes.

Just bought my copy, so will look through it later.

Now that I have actually seen the front cover, in the flesh as it were, I have to say I am very disappointed in it. I thought it would grow on me, but it hasn't.

    A very poor cover imo.

I have now read cover to cover. Like others have said there's a lot of repeats but quite a bit of stuff I am looking forward to seeing again.

The bond movie Casino Royale was on last night on itv, and sky+ seemed to give a series link option to it, so I'm hoping quantum of solace is shown before skyfall on Xmas eve but I can't see it on the schedules anywhere. Does anyone know if QoS is on over the festive period at all?

This is my final post in the 2014 thread. It has been absolutely wonderful posting in here during the last twelve months. The thread is clearly on its deathbed now because we no longer have anything to countdown to. So, thanks everyone for cheering me with your posts and comments. I look forward to doing it all again in the 2015 thread.

Merry Christmas and a fabulous New Year to each and every one of you.

    Goodbye 2014!

Use the digital version now on my iPad
Not a fan of the cover at all, really not christmassy at all
Is that woman an angel? That cat is obese!
Why use something that is not even on TV?

Free Paddington book, it costs £1.99, tut tut!

Still, looking forward to Sat, to start browsing the mag, that's a great daily morning ritual each day to see and moan what's on Christmas tv :)

To be fair the Paddington book only costs £1.99 post & packing if you send off for it, you can get it for free by taking your voucher to any Early Learning Centre or Mothercare.

Just read the interview with James Corden on page 24. He's very defensive at first I thought. The journalist must have worried that he might walk out!

I'm sure that BBC2 Network will show the 1990 Christmas ident from Christmas Day next week along with 1979, 1984 & 1985 ones after they bring back the 1998 Christmas ident and soon they might bring back the best-loved 1993 Christmas ident to come :)

I imagine the news would be. There's also cricket from Australia and New Zealand that start on Boxing Day their time but, due to time differences, are Christmas Day our time.

The Christmas Day morning service "Come and Join in the Celebration" is live from St George’s Parish Church in Leeds 10am BBC1

Sad to see so many copies of the Christmas Radio Times lying around in the shops. Obviously, there are still lots of copies of the budget mags (TV Choice/What's on TV) too, but the premium magazines such as TV and Satellite Weekly, TV Times and Total TV Guide are all gone from the local shops. They were first out of the starting blocks and got snapped up like hot cakes, while Radio Times was still in the changing room, trying to get its pants on.

Always loved the christmas edition of the radio times..My memories of Christmas past was awakened when i found a couple of old Radio times..I always remember the smell and texture of the old editions the cerated edges and the feel of the paper so different from what we have now...Mind you alot of the programmes are still the same....Anyway i put them online for a trip down memory lane...
