    If they hired Lady Gaga then they could get Madonna in to save cash on CGI if the Doctor is ever prematurely aged again, ala Last of the Time Lords.

    Time lords are not genderless/sexless species. It would be really stupid.

    As for your question, I'd say Tilda Swinton would be a good time lady. But hopefully some other time lady, not Doctor.

    My God, you're right...let's sack Capaldi now before this golden instant in time passes. I know they've already filmed his regeneration, but we can get Joan Collins into Matt's Christmas wig and have her fall over as an alternative.

    The biggest problem with a female Doctor is that the idea is something that's been fodder for comedians since the 70s. Trying to get audiences to take it seriously would be like making a Star Trek film where a major plot point is Captain Kirk getting an STD from a hot alien chick - sure, it could be done right in the hands of an especially skilled writer, it's just much more likely to be unintentionally hilarious.
