A lot of people like it but imo I really can't stand that You got The Love cover that Florence and the Machine did. Also Halo (originally by Beyonce) covered by Florence.
And Lissies cover of 'Go your Own Way'.
And that woman (don't know her name) who covered 'Wherever You Will Go' ( originally by The Calling) for that bloody tea advert. In fact I hate most sickly twee whispering women singers covering songs I like, seems to be the In thing in adverts nowadays.
Also
Run - Leona Lewis
Chop Suey - Avril Lavigne
Smells Like Teen Spirit - Miley Cyrus
Stop Crying Your Heart Out - Leona Lewis
Peter Gabriel recently did an album of orchestral versions of other people's songs called Scratch My Back. In return, the artists were supposed to cover a song of his.
Apparently, one of the people he approached was Thom Yorke of Radiohead, who wanted to do a version of Gabriel's song Wallflower.
Anyway, Gabriel went ahead and did a version of Street Spirit.
Apparently, Thom Yorke listened to it and hasn't spoken to Gabriel since, he thought it was so bad! :D
Needless to say, Thom Yorke's cover of Wallflower never happened.
It's a useful site if you are looking for covers of particular songs or artists.
It was howver during an hour or so looking up some of my favourite artists that I found yet another Rod Stewart cover. Now Rod has had a great career and I love some of his early stuff however...
Sometimes no matter how good of a singer you are, you shouldn't touch certain songs and try and maintain the feel of the original. This is one of them....

Peter Gabriel - Street Spirit
I think this wins the thread, Peter Gabriel is the murderer.
I think it's absolutely hilarious. Hilariously bad! I recommend anybody who's feeling down listens to it because they're guaranteed to piss themselves laughing. Unless they're Thom Yorke.
Can you believe Mojo magazine gave that album 4 stars out of 5?
Some of the comments on that Youtube page are hilarious, Just a couple I saw:
Having listened to Peter Gabriel's musical ideas painfully run out and die over the last 20 years, he is now audibly decomposing in other peoples songs.
different. A car full of horseshit, on fire , coming the wrong way down a one way freeway . Might have me go "well look at that flaming car of shit driving itself, thats different".
Doesn't mean its a good thing. Sweet Jesus on a cross this could be the worst cover I have ever heard and i had a nightmare once where Morrissey crooned his way through purple haze

Yep, prefer it to the original.
She murdered Hurt by Nine Inch Nails too.
