I think you are thinking of the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles. I find this website very useful, lists every weekly chart ever! http://www.chartstats.com/chart.php?date=06%2F01%2F1977

Brilliant! :) That's just what I was looking for. Thanks for the tip! :)

    Either this chart - http://www.chartstats.com/chart.php?week=19770101

    or this one - http://www.chartstats.com/chart.php?week=19770108

will be the one the programme is based on (probably)

Thanks for posting that too. I love this sort of thing! :)

I don't recall - but I'm sure I've seen Supersonic repeats since then where he has obviously been edited out ... not sure what channel it was on, though! :o

I'd personally leave him in the old TOTPs - I don't see how it changes anything. However, can you imagine the Daily Heil creating hysteria about it if they did? It was bad enough this week with them going all Mary Whitehouse about some nudity which was never even seen on Sherlock; a GG/TOTP frenzy would be unbearable and, for that reason, I would wager Glitter will be excised from the repeats.
G+ are the only channel to have aired Supersonic . I recorded loads.
But like every other show on that channel they were edited for timing so GG may have been cut for that reason.

Bumping - 30 mins to go...

Maybe we could have a separate thread for the weekly inane Twitter style chit chat that plagued the 1976 thread every time a show was actually being broadcast and leave this one for the more in depth analysis /reviews/ expectations?

Are people unable to leave the PC alone for half an hour?

Not watching the broadcasts until I have copied it to dvd so not sure of the context , but if he's in the 1977 review he might not necessarily be in the actual shows .
Hopefully the BBC will make a conscious effort to stick two fingers up at airbrushing history fans

Will there be complaints about GG? At least they acknowledged his existence even if it was comment free.

    http://z6.*****************/popscene/index.php?showtopic=8416

    Full list for 1977.
Can't do it as a direct link as this site blocks it for some reason.
Asterisks should be replaced by "in vision dot com" - written the usual way that is

Is there still an incarnation of The Drifters doing the rounds? They seem to have been in existence since before the dinosaurs.

I'm guessing that it is actually Bobby "singing" this time. It's painful to listen to. I'm amazed they did so well after this performance.
