54yo male, (bit of a hippy) How do I find a new soulmate/special friend

I am a single male, looking younger and , love my old Classic Scimitar, gigs, festival, not your avarage 54yo. Lived on a houseboat for 1 year, love to do it again.

So how do I find a new special person on my life. Most my age, would not be happy camping in a muddy field for 3 days at Glasto..

Any ideas!

You do sound nice. What about your local pub? Quizz night etc.

Whay do you do in your spare time? I bet there are loads of single women who would love to meet a nice bloke.

My Mum is 50 and has been divorced from my dad for a few years and has never found that special someone. She is wondering if it will ever happen at all. :(

It not that easy, even though I live in a lovely peaceful village in Kent, it not that easy to see single older women. I guess it still not really done thing to go to a pub on there own. I even tried 'Match' and a great New age single website called 'Earth Wise Singles'

I am off to Italy on Saturday, maybe I look there!

I think it is easier for a woman, so she will find someone eventually, as i said my main problem, I don't do normal middle-ages things.. I also have a active job as a Graphic designer and photographer on magazines, not ready for the quiet life yet!

But the lady in question may not be on her own, we tend to go out with friends. I think you should go out as much as you can. Pubs/events you enjoy (which means there will be like minded women there) voluntary work etc.

    Enjoy Italy!!

Do you have many male friends? It's always easier socialising in a group.

Neither does my mum do normal middle aged things lol. She's a very youthful 50. She needs to be swept off her feet by someone adventurous lol. She's become too independent and thinks she gives off the wrong signals as she is a very good looking woman and yet has had no success.

Yes, but they are mostly still married, with someone or not looking!

What age range would you consider?

Actually, I'm a bit like MoistenedBint's Mum, I'm finding men my age a wee bitty dull, as though someone's filed down all their nice spikey interesting bits.

If the OP's not near Kent, pop up to Scotland for a bit ... so to speak;)

My last g/f was 38 (it lasted 14mths) and we got on fine, had a lot in common... so really it more about interests and a zest for life..

I like to think I still have that edge, and...

... thanks, my parents were from Scotland.. but it's along way to go for a date :(

One thing you definately have going for you is that you don't sound boring. Mant men get to a certain age and start wearing cardigans and see a Sunday as a chance to potter around B & Q.

I really doubt you will have a problem finding a woman!

I don't own a cardi, and spend Sunday sometimes in my Classic sports car... My weekend's are never boring!

...not that there's anything wrong with that.

I often wish for a damned good potter around B&Q (am replumbing the loo at the mo).

But yeah, I recently met a guy I had a crush on for 5 years at school, he use to be so off-the-wall - OK weird - I adored him. Now he's turned beige :cry:

So, Mr OP (may I call you O?) stay as young as you are ;)
