It's repeated midweek on BBC2, in Scotland at least. Good programme, not just a glorified travelogue.

However, after the first programme some idiot wrote a letter to the Glasgow Herald complaining about The Antiques Road Show being re-scheduled to make way for "a documentary about trees".

They seem to be repeating the series on BBC2 network and BBC HD a few episodes behind BBC2 Scotland but I don't think Episode 1 is repeated in the near future but will probably be repeated sometime later.

Another "in your face" presenter doing his best to hog the camera "doing stuff."

Did you know you can start a fire using two bits of wood, a bit of kindling and a shoe lace?

Bet the scouts would have liked to have known that in Baden Powell's days.

    "Blue Peter for Adults."

Sorry, but he was too much "in your face."

I've long said presenters of a programme where much of the interest is in the visual aspect, doesn't need a "self serving would be TV celebrity," regardless of how knowledgeable they may be, constantly "waving their arms about in the foreground."

    Get them behind the camera.

And like the bit about starting a fire, I mean how many times have we seen this sort of stuff before?

I was amused by a letter in the paper today from a reader who said; "he'd seen the wilderbeest migration in documentaries on TV so often, he can now recognise every individual animal."

Far too often TV programmes assume that people have little or no knowledge of the subject at all, when often it's because they have, is the only reason why they will watch it.

Fascinating episode last night, does make you despair of the fishing industry and our fish stocks.

Great documentary series, that I only found out about because it was featured on Points of View last week.

It's on iPlayer, although the fourth episode has disappeared - it was shown in scotland a week or two before england, so it will reappear next week:

    Indeed.

Doghouse's usual line is "anyone can present".

So, even when a programme is presented by a specialist presenter it's still not good enough for him!:D

Check the link above, it's on iPlayer. It's the final episode next week - Saturday.
