20 years of Sky Sports - will they reward customers?

I was just wondering that Sky are doing a fantastic job reminding us at almost ad break that it's been 20 years - will they give something back to the customers? 20 years free subscription would be handy :D

They are more likely to reward NON subscibers with a freebie:mad: than give the loyal customers a break

i've paid my licence fee to the BBC for a lot longer than that - and never a freebie,

You people never cease to amaze me, you want sky but want it for free

they are a business, they provide a product which you either choose to purchase or not

    its pretty simple really

Once you are subscribing they don't care.. its the old customers/new customers they want..

There is nothing for Loyal customers!

Ah, but with the license fee you get it free once you turn 74. Question is, will Sky give you their services free when you reach that age ;)

I repudiate this slur on Sky.

I have been with them since 1989 and have had Sky +, multiroom, HD etc from the off.

So they very generously rewarded me a couple of years ago,

In return for encouraging friends and family to sign up to Sky at a way cheaper deal than I have ever had they kindly sent me....
A packet of love heart sweets and a tin badge about being a friend.

    :)

The sad part being that it is, of course, really true!

Well I have succeeded where others fail. Completely out of the blue last March, no threats from me of cancellation or anything like that, I had a phone call from Sky, they offered me a brand new 500gb Sky+HD box to replace my Sky+ box that was about a year old, free installation and free HD subs for a year. I get to keep the original box no obligation to renew the HD sub after the year runs out (although I will renew) but if I cancelled it the SkyHD box reverts to just a Sky+ box, I still keep it.
Now that WAS an offer I could not refuse — nothing at all to lose.

So you see it IS possible to get some decent offer from Sky, but saying that it is all I have had from them in the many years I have been subscribing Sky World which includes the cinema and sports package.

Do British Gas give you free gas? Do you get free electric from eon? Do you get free line rental from BT? No. Only reason new customers get a free box is so they join. If Sky wanted £200+ to get installed they would not have 10,000,000 customers.

I repudiate this slur on Sky.

It can only be a slur if its found NOT to be true

Recommend a friend is a promotion that is to get more customers for sky.. its NOT a loyalty bonus for long standing customers!

The only thing current subscribers get is a guarantee that prices go up and quality goes down! :)

Not getting at you. Just thought it was obvious I was not being entirely serious. Bit like Sky with the badge. :)

If by "will they reward customers" you mean "will they put the prices up" then yes. :D
