Hannah admitted to poisoning Deb though, so yeah it is unlikely. :p

She did, and as soon as she did I thought to myself oh well that's that then...but then she went and gave Dexter "a look". I don't know, I'll shelve it for now.

There's really been no sense of Dexter and Maria's friendship becoming strained, nevermind destroyed, and thats disappointing.
Good point. Although I don't recall them socialising much out of work. Maria has been promoted so that she's no longer in Dexter's circle at work, and she also got married to someone else so there was no romantic connection, and they had no reason to interact. I think they drifted apart until there was nothing left to destroy.
I've said this before in other threads, but in my view Dexter (both the show and the character) lost its heart when Rita was killed off. The character and the show has been on something of a downward spiral ever since. It gave us that amazing end to season 4, but looking back it really did mark the beginning of the end.
For me it was the start of season 4, not the end. When Dexter got married and became all domestic and continually frazzled, and Rita turned from an awesome character into a shrewish wife. Season 4 had a great antagonist, but not much more. It also had Maria's romance with Angel, ending with marriage, which kinda showed how desperate for ideas the writers were.

I get that as killers they understand each other like no other, but we've already seen this being done before with Lila (and even Lumen, kind of).
Agreed. I didn't like Lila, but I am a big fan of Lumen. She wasn't crazy, she knew what Dexter was and accepted it. She went with him on his kills and Deb wouldn't have approved.

For Hannah to come along and dispel the dark passenger so easily, is arguably unearned. Although it could also be argued that it wasn't Hannah alone; it was all those previous companions and Dexter was just ready now.

of course they'll always be a question mark about Harrison - Watched his mother murdered, sat in her blood, see's his father kill someone. Could history repeat one day? ;)
Nah, Harrison is a rubbish name for a follow up series! :D

I just finished watching season 7 and wow, it was amazing! I'm gutted that I've no more episodes left to watch now!

I can't believe that Deb killed LaGuerta, I did not see that coming at all. I literally have no clue what is going to happen next season but I can't wait to see it. LaGuerta was annoying - to me, at least - but she didn't deserve to be killed and I don't see how Deb is going to get past that. I think that'll pretty much destroy Deb and Dexter's relationship, for a while anyway.

Anyone else thought Dexter had the all thing planned out?

Getting Hector to phone Maria and tell her where he his, he kills him and then Maria turns up prompting Deb to get worried and to find Maria and Dexter, Dexter knew she wont kill him so she kills Maria.

IMO Dexter couldnt kill Maria because she didnt meet the code.

Nah, I think he's cares too much for Deb to purposely put her through the torment of making her kill Maria. And the code has gone out the window now anyway.

Finally caught up with this season of Dexter. Always been an episode or 2 behind so haven't been able to venture into this thread and contribute which was killing me but i absolutely LOVED this season! Such a brilliant season, back to its best and Michael C Hall is STILL a revelation. His portrayal of Dexter is nothing but extraordinary, a class act. This guy deserves an Emmy, a Golden Globe or something!

Jennifer Carpenter has also been been great this season. I especially loved the 1-2-1 Dex/Deb scenes when she realised who/what Dexter was. Those scenes at the beginning of the season between them was pure drama and had me totally gripped as she discovered the awful truth about Dexter and his murky past. Also loved Yvonne Strahovski as Hannah and Ray Stevenson as Isaak who both did sterling work, especially Stevenson who created a brilliant antagonist. Loved the chemistry between these two. When he told Dexter they could have been friends, i believed it.

Superb season finale. With it being titled 'Suprise, Motherf*cker' i thought Doakes was going to come back from the dead and i thought they couldn't, could they? Luckily it was just flashbacks which were cleverly interweaved through the episode. That was genius and Doakes, what a legend! Creep motherf*cker! :D Does anyone know if they were genuine flashbacks from earlier seasons or especially filmed for this season?

Thought Dexter was going to kill Hannah but sending her to jail was a nice touch, liked the opening scene between them. She's got some bite on her! :D Although with her escaping i guess that means there's a chance she might appear in the final season. The scene between LaGuerta and Deb when she found the CCTV footage of her gave me shivers, i thought the game was up but Deb she turned it back on LaGuerta. Excellent scene.

The last 5mins wow - Dexter about to kill LaGuerta (which i felt was justified - survival of the fittest/kill or be killed - but totally crossing the line as she didn't fit the code), Deb pulling the gun on Dexter, Deb shooting and killing LaGuerta. Amazing!

The writing has been much better this season as well. Only negative for me has been Quinn who added nothing to the season whatsoever. With Dexter Season 8 coming back to FXUK on 7th July they'll be showing it one week after it's aired in the States. Thank god!!! This has got to be a first for Dexter on FXUK, i guess they realised it's the only choice they had. Good on them!

Has anyone seen the recent promos for Season 8? Less than 2 months to go, can't wait!

O my god just watched the end of this season on dvd now.

Deb shot LaGuerta?? I can't believe it. This is on a par with Rita dying in terms of the shock of it.

Can't see it ending well for him or Deb. dexter has tried to give up killing before but he just can't do it. I have no idea what's going to happen, but I am excited!

Finally got round to watching this, as Lovefilm have finally put up seasons 1-6 on its streaming service. Enjoying it so far. The only thing I've noticed, in season 1 at least, is that a lot of dialogue is in Spanish, and unfortunately Lovefilm doesnt have subtitles. Presumably if I watched on DVD or Blu-Ray, you could enable them and the Spanish would be subbed. Am I missing a lot of plot not knowing what they are saying?

I'm just catching up with it now in preparation for the new season - watching ep 5 at the moment - and am hugely enjoying it. One of the reasons it's taken so long to watch is that there was some very bad reviews of it online at the time and I thought, wrongly as it turns out, that it's time might have been up but in my opinion it's the best season, so far anyway, since Trinity.

I know that there is a lot of talk here above but because of the spoilers I can't read these posts ...

That was partly because he put the blame on his dark passenger. Now he believes that's not a thing, he has more potential for stopping than before.

I really liked season 7, especially Issac and the Dex and Deb scenes. Plenty of twists and turns. Hannah was interesting although I didn't really think there was much chemistry between her and Dex.

One thing that bugged me (I know I am just being pedantic) was that in the Doakes flash backs Dexter appears to kill a suspect that was still being hunted by the homicide team. I always thought that in the early series Dexter only killed people who "got a way with it" i.e on a technicality, or people who were not on the police radar. It was only in the later seasons he started going more and more against the code? I might be wrong.

Anyway I am really looking forward to the rest of season 8, the first episode was pretty good. I like the Vogel character.
