What is Shiver?

Is Shiver an independant production company or a subsidary company belonging to ITV, It seems strange that whenever a spin off programme or documentary about Coronation Street, its' characters and actors is made that this logo appears at the end. It does not even say Shiver Productions Ltd. As any programme about Corrie would carry almost entirely ITV Studios / Granada material then one would assume that the programme would have been made in house and would carry the ITV Studios logo at the end. Currently there are two programmes running at the moment that have the Shiver logo at the end. The Corrie Years and Paul O' Grady at Battersea dogs home.

O'Grady used his own production company to make the Paul O'Grady show, maybe this is another money making exercise from him?

Yes, Shiver is a subsidiary of ITV Studios that specialises in factual programming - http://www.shiver-productions.co.uk/ It is actually the old Yorkshire TV factual department and is based in Leeds.

There's nothing funny about it, it's no different to Fremantle's different subsidiary companies all having different names like Talkback and Thames.

Perhaps it's done for tax or commercial reasons.

    That is Olga Productions.

Endemol use lots of different production companies as well, Brighter Pictures, Zeppotron etc, all specialising in different genres.
