I'd already guessed MacKenzie was involved. Now that Marcus has told Reinhart about the case I think she'll help save him. Though I doubt the punch in the face will endear him to her.
From early in the first episode when I saw the copper with the dodgy arm I thought this is surely just a decent rehash of the Fugitive & nothing I have seen has made me change my mind.
Episode 2 had a lot going on but yet seemed as if there wasn't enough detail coming out to pin anyone closely enough to it yet, I think its too obvious now to be his DCI (woman with blonde hair) but yet she has to be up to something.
Episode 3 should be really good, can't wait!
Still great viewing, although it's a tad far fetched.
How did he manage run from the Stretford/Trafford Park border to Manchester Piccadilly railway station in a blink of the eye; a distance of about 4 miles?:o
Loving John Simm & looking forward to the final episode.
Still enjoying this but it's becoming a bit laughable how easily he escapes each time and why, oh why, would DCI Mac think it a good idea to destroy the floppy by frying it ... in a place where the police had just been and it would be seen?!

I thought it was a bit laughable when she threw the disk into the fat fryer.
Firstly, why wasn't the fryer covered, secondly, there was no a soul around leaving the fryer unattended.
Very fast paced and I too think it's just a of style of the fugitive
Agreed, especially as both were filmed in Yorkshire - at least the body find and the street scene immediately before it which were in Greenfield, Saddleworth, Yorkshire.
It's all filmed in Greater Manchester. Greenfield and Saddleworth both being in Greater Manchester! I wonder if they picked this area for a buried body due to the area's history with the moors murders.
I'm enjoying this a lot.
Who cares if the storyline makes us suspend belief on a few occasions? It's fast-paced (in a good way) and, overall, well-acted and pretty gripping. I'll be sorry when it ends next week.
Glad I watched this and I did because it was John Simm in the lead role.
Don't care if nowadays, people say he looks like David Platt (never watch corrie anyway) and, a few years ago, when he was starring in LOM, people would have been saying that Martin Freeman looked just like John Simm, not the other way around.

Agree.
Not enjoying this as much as I thought I would. In fact I found myself googling 1600 spin washing machines half way through.
I think this is good TV crime drama - well acted. I am pleased that I guessed that the DCI would be a villain.
As for those who say that it is a rip-off of The Fugitive or the Bourne films: have they ever seen The 39 Steps? The plot of a wrongly accused man going on the run to clear himself, with incredible escapes and conspirators in high places, is as old as the hills, and each new version builds on what has gone before.
But if well done, as this is, it can be very enjoyable.
I’m enjoying this despite its less than original storyline. Good acting, especially from Simm and the investigating police woman, I like her naturalistic style of delivery.
I like the paciness and am happy to suspend my disbelief every so often, e.g pretending to escort the old woman from her house using that fail proof disguise, specs! Agree that there are definite shades of Bourne, but hey ho, it’s good stuff for Monday. The fact I wished I could see the concluding episode straight away is always a positive sign!
It's dead easy - John Simm is an actor, and John Hannah acts a bit, unless he's playing the type of character he usually plays.
John Hannah was great in Spartacus! It's James Nesbitt who can't act. Never seen him in a role where he didn't have a Northern Irish accent, so he clearly is unable to change it. John Simm however is always good to watch, I remember first seeing him in 'The Lakes'.
Still great viewing, although it's a tad far fetched.

Just watching it now and it's the first thing I said aloud.
How did they pull off the stunt near the end with the fast moving train? Surely not "as seen"? Eek.
They will have filmed the jump without another train coming, then separately another shot from the same angle with the train hurtling past, then cut them together to seem like they were at nearly the same time?
Guesswork. But it was a very exciting shot, despite being spoilt in the trailer.
More laughable was he ran on to a electric train at Manchester Picc which left the station but when she caught up with him it was a diesel express train he jumped out of.
They are trying to mimic certain other dramas such as those by Shane Meadows in making the script very conversation-like, rather than what you'd expect from a drama. When two characters are talking to each other, there's no music and minimal background noise, it's like they're the only two people in the world.
I wouldn't say it doesn't work but it is a bit distracting.
Very disappointing after all the hype thought it was going to be different from all the other cop dramas , could be an episode of the bill!. We always have to hear about the home lives of the characters, why not just get on with the story. Totally average. Us dramas wipe the floor with ours. Could have been the Britt version of the fugitive. When the chase was on I thought he was going to jump into a river but he just disappeared from a garage roof!

The storyline is a bit lacking but John Simm is good as usual.

I disagree. I'm really enjoying her performance, very natural.

That sounds like the start of a million old gags; you've got an Englishman, and Irishman and a Scotsman.
(Though not necessarily in the right order)
