and by pop - I am taking all of your answers in to consideration …so pop really does mean popular i.e. mainstream/gained some kind of noteriety ….. so in essence; 'What is your fave album of the year 2013 that we have heard of ??' (lol)

That's a lot of choices. It'll be interesting to see if there are any runaway winners, or if the distribution is pretty flat.

yep I agree…

I started a thread in November and I stuck to the normal 'pop' but many people argued that their fave artist and album should be included… and after reflection… i agree ……POP means POPULAR = MAINSTREAM… even genres not necessarily well known can become POPULAR or at least Known/Mainstream…regardless of how alternative, indie, marginalised, underrated or experimental they are….

I voted for Kacey Musgraves - her album is flawless in my opinion.

It was hard to choose as there were so many other good options!

Tegan and Sara, Paramore, Chvrches, Laura Marling, Laura Mvula, Haim, Gabrielle Aplin, Lorde, Arctic Monkeys, Rebecca Ferguson, Beyonce, Charli xcx, Janelle Monae and Ellie Goulding all came close

I nearly voted Sara Bareilles as the album is amazing though I ended up voting Selena Gomez as hers is more poppy and upbeat.

This is so difficult. I may come back later. I am close to voting for Lorde. I can't stop listening to it and it is getting more spins that other great pop albums like Prism, Artpop and Bangerz, but the album does have more flaws than those i listed. I really don't know.
