Problems with hotmail?

Hi,

recently when I've tried to get on hotmail I've had a yellow screen come up saying it thinks I'm not about to access the site I mean to, I just click 'proceed anyway' and continue onto hotmail.

Today I have started getting this one...

I don't know why they are coming up and at first I was ignoring it but now there's this second one as well and I'm a bit more concerned.

Anyone else experienced this or know why it's happening??

I have a saved link where I've had the same thing with it now and again. I could click on it now and it will be fine, but then a couple hours later and it won't! As I'm not sure if it's my security application being overeager or not, so I've not worried about it too much, so I just go to Google, searched for 'hotmail log-in' and got through to emails that way.

ETA: I just looked on your link after I posted and I never got that one before, although it looks like a warning to say that as the https setting is not on the page, it's not as secure as it usually would be.

Out of curiosity, are you using Windows 8 or 8.1?

    Hi :)

Yes sometimes I can just get on hotmail normally, it doesn't happen every time.

    Windows 8.1 apparently.

Hi there :) OK, that's no surprise. It might just be a coincidence that when I was on Windows 7, I can't remember getting the yellow screen, but I've occasionally had them since I moved to Windows 8. I also have experienced the odd clash and glitch with other applications/programs such as messenger (yes I still use it!!), and sorry to say this, apparently Windows 8.1 is more so with this and one reason why I won't upgrade to it.

I don't mind it too much if it's just a glitch rather than an actually security problem! Thanks for your help :)

Not really connected, but when I tried to log into my hotmail account on my tablet, it prompted me to change to "outlook.com", which I did. Had never done that on my PC.

I can't say I have ever had that problem with 8.1 or in Win 7.
Might be worth adding https everywhere to your browser. https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere

It's not Hotmail anymore...it's outlook now. Thats why it won't let you on.

I had a quick look at that but I'm not very computer-y so not sure what it's meant to do??

It changes to Outlook because it's not hotmail anymore. You still have the same email address xxxx@hotmail.com but it's actually outlook. You go to outlook.com instead of hotmail.com. You can google all this for an explaination.

I know what you mean, I just mean that sometimes when I type in hotmail I still get on my emails, it obviously just redirects me automatically.

It's the same for me, I use a hotmail link to gain access, and it says outlook.com on the page, so I don't think it's the reason the OP is getting those messages.
