Women - Do You Like Being Called Love/Darling etc?

I've often wondered how women feel when random men call them love or darling or babe? Perhaps its fine if your partner uses it but what about a stranger?
Do you like it or does it annoy you? Or do you not care one way or the other?

No I don't like it at all and find it patronising.
It doesn't bother me so much when it's said by much older people as I often think of that as a generational thing.

Agreed, that's often 'love' anyway which is massively better than 'babe'.

The one that really gets me is 'hun'.

So how should a stranger address you?

Same as how they would address anyone depending on the situation

I've never called anyone love or babe in my life and have never had a problem addressing anyone...

Yes I dislike being called 'hun' by females as well as males.

I wouldn't ever call a strange woman love, darling, babe, hun or anything like that, only women I'm in a relationship with, if they are ok about it.

    Love it.

Not keen on the word 'hun', but I wouldn't take it as anything other than friendly.

Does anyone use 'Hun' in real life? Surely that's reserved for the twunts on fakebook?

Admittedly I am thinking more of texts or Facebook with that one, but yes I have heard it used in real life too.

I don't really care tbh, as long as it isn't used to attempt to belittle me, but that is far more a matter of tone and context not terminology.

I have the most admirably endowed male friend on here who calls me Hun. Woo Hoo! :D

I don't mind it, but it would all depend on the tone as to whether it'd piss me off or not.

Two of my female colleagues call me, each other and various in our team 'hun'. I think it means we're all part of a team.

What I really dislike is being called 'mate'. Surely that's what men call each other, not male / female? Feels very 'blokey', which I'm not!

I don't mind 'love', but dislike 'babe' as that feels disrespectful to one's elders (and sadly I am probably older than most of the people I work with) or should be reserved for one's partner.

I don't really mind any of those mentioned if I'm honest.
