BT are bringing all their packages together. So Bt Yahoo will close.
I hate changes. Is this a good thing, and will our currant emails be safe?

Anyone having trouble reading the comments so far. I have tried to reload many times, but no luck.
Could be all the comments are negative.;)

Does anybody know whether the new BT e-mail service will support the IMAP protocol. If it doesn't then there are going to be a lot of unhappy BT customers.

I presume so, as their site mentions 'mail folders' will be migrated. Besides, most decent email providers support IMAP these days. http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/44789/?s_cid=con_FURL_email_newemail

Darren, it does mention on the URL that you posted that they will support IMAP and POP3 access.
Thanks

Nightmare. They mucked up transferring my old dial up email address when broadband came. Completely garbled it. Then they gave me a version of the dial up address with pointless additions. I enquired why, and they said they couldn't give me my original dial up address as that was in use - by me!! So they said just keep on using your old dial up email address. So I have two bt addresses. As the BT account was set up before broadband, they send account issues to the old address and broadband notifications to the new address thats never used. Now they want to move folders and addresses to a new address , and then set up a new BT identity that covers them all.
The chances of this working, me not losing my email history, or BT India understanding what needs doing. or the word dialup. are dispiritingly low.
It's a real nightmare at the moment. I have had my e-mail hacked twice in the last two weeks. All they can seem to say is change your password and wait till the new service is available.....

As the display is optimised for all devices, my Tablet did not show all the options that are along the blue bar as shown on the demonstration site,– only a single tab with “Menu”.
Tapping on this didn't do anything at first, but after several tries, allowed a drop-down box with everything there to access. I would imagine this same view will display on a Smart phone i.e. just “Menu”. Maybe someone can confirm that, as I don't use my phone for internet access.
My original BT Yahoo homepage was set to the bare minimum of options, but now, I have loads of video clips, features and promotions that can't be removed.
On my desktop and laptop, I can still access the BT Yahoo homepage as normal, but I've changed it to the new look page. All in all, it will be an improvement and especially to get rid of Yahoo, but I see no means to customise it.
Apparently all email addresses will be migrated by the end of the year except those alias ones created in Yahoo.
Many comments here.

They would have done better to find out why yahoo passwords are so vailable to hackers.
I have just seen two failed message delivery notices relating to 7 emails that failed to deliver to completely unknown sites in my intray.
They all seem to come from the old btopenworld address. Anyone could be pretending to come from there, and if it is hacked I have not used it for 8 years since BT changed the name so i don't even know the password to change it......
