How do you protect your cash whilst on the beach abroad.
Me hubby and Kevin & Perry (our kids
) are off to Ibiza on 25th July.I've got everything sorted but one thing i forgot was to find out what to do with our cash when we are on the beach / swimming. We want to travel to different parts of the island so most of our cash will be kept in the safe and we will take out so many euros per day. But if we are all frolicking in the sea and theres no one sitting by the towles and bags where shall i put my money? In my bag on the beach? but that would be inviting trouble / theives. What do you guys do?? |

You can buy little plastic pots which are waterproof and have a cord so you can wear round your neck. If you roll your notes up you can put them and coins in easily. I tuck mine into the top of my swimsuit when swimming. Have a look in Boots or Tesco or any travel accessories section of supermarkets. Don`t forget your two pin plug adaptor.

If you forget to buy any of these interesting money holders, you could always bury the money in the sand under your towels.

Usually one person stays with the money/belongings, and then takes their turn in the sea/pool etc.

The very first time I went abroad, to Majorca, years ago, I simply asked a German couple sitting next to us to watch my bag. Sounds like a Viz Top Tip now but it seemed like a good idea at the time. I learnt German at school so I could say it in schoolgirl German too!

I've been to a few beaches that allow you to hire a parsol with a built in safe for a very reasonable rate!

I'm off on holiday soon and those pouches look great. I don't have enough time now to wait for an Amazon order so does anybody know which shops sell them at?
Thanks |

We simply leave the cash in a bag on the beach, along with the towels, snacks, clothes and all the other stuff. We certainly don't take phones and the like with us - we are on holiday for goodness sake!
We don't take huge amounts of cash to the beach - probably only a few euros - enough for a few beers - why do we need to take wads of cash with us? Also, we don't go very far from our stuff - we can see our stuff from where we are in the sea, and if anyone approaches our stuff. We also do not go to busy beaches - the beaches we usually go to have the closest person 50 yards or so away. |
