Thanks, needed pointing in the right direction too.
Just hit 60 and I'm really enjoying it. Been playing some of the Halloween PVP and it's a ton of fun.

Something to do with people farming karma currency to spend on food then selling it i think

Basically because of the RTM (gold sellers) antics to discourage them

I don't understand how they can do this without monthly payments. Have they really made that much money? Has anyone got any idea how this model is sustainable and for how long?

Like most free to play games, they make their money on DLC content.

There's a real money 'micro transactions' shop built into the game. This and expansions will fund the game. I bought the game in April and have recently spent money on gems to upgrade my account and buy some goodies. You never feel pressured into using it, and unlike LOTRO it's not in your face every time you move your mouse (I think there'd be uproar ina game we've all paid for) but it's there when you want a treat or a boost!

There won't be frequent paid for content though, the majority is returned through initial sales and rmt. The devs said they'll add a ton of content for free. The halloween patch added new permanent content that was overlooked in the bedlam of the Mad King's return. Plus there's the November patch which looks a bit good! Then onto the Christmas content, all within 4 months of release. They must be really busy!!!

Sorry my fault, I don't think I made myself clear that it was the micro-transactions I was talking about when I said they made money via DLC. I refered to it as DLC as it's "extra" to what comes with the base game or via an expansion pack.

I got bored after five weeks of addiction, left it for a week, tried it and got addicted all over again. There is so much to this game! It's insane!!!
