Pointless, even SS5 doesn't have enough new content for a 24-hour channel

Maybe if they re-label SkySportsF1 to it but not otherwise. I guess they could give them different EPGs timesharing.

Give up. It will come if it needs too, but right now, it doesn't.

A time share of F1's down time for a ss6 could work and then when they need more time for other sports give it a full time stream.

The same advice was to give up on posting calls for Sky Sports 4 and Sky Sports 5.

Maybe Sky read these forums and listen to people who watch the TV
and not those who solely dismiss people like me who want improvements and progression.

I would argue whilst there maybe a SS5 it is not required , look at Sundays offering 1 live game and wall to wall repeats , ok if you like repeats

What live/major sporting events are you missing that warrants another sports channel?

We don't need another linear channel.
Sky does however need to get their finger out and sort out HD red button streams.
5 sport channels AND a sports news channel is by far enough, for ANYONE.

It's enough for Sky Sports. In the Middle East though, beIN Sports (Al Jazeera) offers 15 HD channels and a sports news service.

    Maybe we could see

    Sky sports rugby.
    Sky sports football
    sky sports cricket

They are all year round sports so it wouldnt leave channels with nothing to show and evenings are usually the time the channels get most viewers so they dont neccessarily need to be 24 hrs

I doubt Sky read your posts, SS4 was added to stop scheduling clashes which forced content to the red button, and SS5 was created as a promotional attempt to gain customers over the summer.

You disagree with what? That Sky didn't come on here? Or the reasons for launching the other channels?

Cause even if they did come on here I doubt they would say "hmm this dan guy really has knowledge of the broadcasting industry and sports broadcasting, let's try what he says and see if it works"

maybe that's what he was doing during his recent forum ban.
he was off to sky hq for a brainstorming session.

Sky Sports 4 originated in 1999 as Sky Sports Xtra. It changed its name in 2010, but that's all it was.

Sky Sports 5 is a marketing gimmick.

It will be interesting to find out whether or not Sky will be involved with the upcoming UK launch of the WWE Network.

What content will SS5 have next year, once the Champions League is moved to BT? Not a lot I imagine

I predict they will retain La Liga,
adding Serie A & Bundesliga on contract renewal
due to the relationship Sky already holds in those countries with regards to domestic rights and the possibility of Sky Europe
following the 'merger' of Sky Italia, Sky Deutchesland & BSKYB.

    He can't.

He just wants Sky to get all sports rights and launch Sky Sports 6, 7, 8,...,n, n+1,... HD.
