He definitely is gay as I remember reading it in an interview in the Radio Times a year or so ago.
The interview was interesting as he dropped hints of a very unhappy private life and if I remember correctly he said that he wasn't on speaking terms with his family and hasn't been for a fair few years. I'm also pretty sure he claimed to be a bit of a loner on the whole as well.

I never have, & never will understand peoples fascination with other peoples sexuallity.
Well I'll never understand people's endless fascination with their own sexuality! Certainly such people can be found in abundance on DS, more's the pity.
An irrational inferiority complex would be my guess...
He is gay. On Twitter he refers to his partner and once on the show he mentioned his honeymoon so, putting two and two together, he's in a civil partnership.
If a man isn't married by the age of 40 then he's either gay or ugly. CJ isn't ugly, so that means he's probably gay.
My brother was unmarried at the age of 40. He is neither ugly nor gay. He married last year at the age of 48 but it is true to say that he has 'flattened some grass' in his time.
Maybe CJ is the same: waiting for the right girl to come along...Daphne!!
I googled him a year ago and found he is openly gay. And also that CJ de Mooi is a bit of a made-up name.
I do love some of his facial expressions, and admire his general knowledge. And he's fit
Imagine being his partner though, during the "act", I'd be constantly looking over my shoulder to check he wasn't rolling his eyes or making disapproving faces.

But answering your question, i have no idea. Does it matter?
No, but it's interesting to speculate.
Does that help?

Quite sad really.
CJ a bit of a loner? Never.

Hard to believe isn't it!
After all, he hasn't got the most 'engaging' of personalities I think it's fair to say!
so true
No, he's just happy!
