Surely these people must have seen the show before, so they should know that there is a good likelihood they'd need to drive stick shift, why not learn to do it at least? (It's not that hard really.) Anyone that gives up like that should be eliminated straight away.

Not a bad episode actually, the fun comes more from watching the ladies behaving badly, especially Hayley. Blair doing his best not to say anything rude to that appalling woman. Thought the other woman Jackie actually has a pretty good singing voice, could well be a singer. Watched the episode in Bangkok with a Thai narrating the show (he seemed to be telling jokes for the Thai audience, probably would have been interesting to watch the last two episodes in Thai), had to rewatch it on YouTube because I missed half of what the racers said.

The producers have been a bit unlucky really. You can't call it bad leg design, when one team ****s up their flights and ends up hours and hours behind everyone else (the New Kids team) and then another team just gives up completely. The fact that teams 2 to 6 were all so close together shows that it could have been a really close race with a different set of teams.

I'm enjoying the characters this season, even if none of the legs have been particularly close races to the finish. I love Jeff and Jackie - they're my favourites. But Mike and Rochelle are really growing on me - I loved the fact that they had a horrendous leg and for most of it could quite easily have been in last place for all they knew, but all we saw was them smiling and being positive.

Jenny and her partner have gone down in my estimation a bit. Blair and Hayley are absolutely BRILLIANT TV… so so awkward all the time!!

I am a bit sick of every other challenge being a 'love' challenge though. With the exception of Jeff and Jackie, there's no way any of the other blind dates are ending up as couples, so stop trying to force the matter…!

Haley is really a piece of work, I can see why she is single. How Blair is putting up with her I will never though. You didnt even see the worse of it in the main show, here its show how awful she really is; - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qn__Eo4h58

That video is really interesting - can't believe they chose not to show any of that in the episode! It's interesting because, Hayley is basically doing that thing 15 year old girls do when they have a crush and it's not reciprocated (let's not forget for the first 2 episodes she was pretty open about the fact she fancied Blair). To me it looks like she's been turned down by him and now she does this irritated and aggravated thing, just to get some kind of attention from him, otherwise she'd get nothing from him at all.

    Believe me. I've done it too… :D:D

It's so weird that despite the 3 week gap it managed to retain the audience and did ok on Friday. Relieved as I thought it would be the death of the show :-( .. Still could be but I really hope we get another few seasons and a return to the glory days.

I hope CBS will realize there are countries like Slovenia and Slovakia in Europe and will include them for future seasons.

I've found Hayley tiresome, and did so before this episode. It was already made obvious 3 weeks previous that she was the problem in the team. We have another bickering couple (2 way bickering and more interesting) so hopefully the editors can now finally cut down on the Hayley edit.

The Amazing Race has a loyal audience and the channel really exploits that, the breaks for some awards show in the past have shown that. Now we can probably expect a 3 week break every year now that this hasn't dented the figures. I'm sure the figures of this show have dropped in recent years though partly because of how lazy/cheap the producers became.

What a train wreck this season is. I am GLAD to see the blonds go. What a waste of space

Hayley was OBNOXIOUS - I was hoping the crates fell and hit her

Wow, that's pretty severe (but I have to agree LOL). Can you imagine having her as your kid's doctor. Wonder how many patients she has.

I am pretty sure Hayley is just a nurse.

Glad to see the car advert over after the first few minutes this time, though Phil still going on about romance at the mat, and it was just a straight 'you are eliminated' rather than holding any tension for the team on the final announcement.

The ability to get a better position by checking planes thoroughly and also the self navigation through the leg was great. They didn't seem to use GPS which is good too and that forces them to ask directions or use map skills. And with what seemed a reasonable distance to the pit stop it meant that positions could change even late on, this doesn't happen much now as the pit stop is often just a short walk away. Good locations, though it would have been nice to have had a road block or detour challenge in the casino.

What a close finish. I wonder how far behind J&J were because it looked pretty close.

I think most of those finishes are edited to look much closer than they really are. Also, does anyone else feel like the plane rides are already opened (not necessarily reserved) for the teams who arrive to get them if they are smart enough. Seems the producers want to be sure everybody gets there in a reasonable close time or at least, two groups arrive together. When the guys led off then got the wrong plane, it left them completely out of the mix which couldn't have pleased the producers.

I imagine the lack of using GPS must be prescribed in the rules. It seems that all teams use GPS at the same time or don't use GPS at the same times too.

Great episode - as I've been saying for weeks, it's just been unfortunate that the episodes have been ending up with one team miles behind. I found that I didn't really want any team eliminated this week… I like one or both of each team. For example, I definitely don't want Blair to be eliminated - he's a great guy - which means I have to root for Hayley too… Same with Jenani and Jenny. Laura and Tyler are pretty adorable - I would love it if they became an actual couple… and I really hope Jeff and Jackie do.

What an epic fail episode for Aly and Steve.

It reminds me of a few seasons back when the editors never even bothered trying to make endings look close. I like all the self-navigation that's an obvious improvement over things a while back. But that branch shelter challenge, why were the locals helping? They would have already shown them an example of how it should be done.

I really stopped liking Ally in those last two episodes and did not like her exit speech at all, about how they were the best team… you hadn't been very good the last two episodes AT ALL. Glad to see them leave.

I really want a Laura and Tyler win now. Such a nice couple, even though they're not a couple!!

Actually I don't think whatever they did in the episode 8 would have changed the outcome. The deciding factor appears to be the Track detour in episode 7 which was the slower one (Mike and Rochelle who was last before the detour finished earlier than Aly and Steve did because they did the Pack detour), and the flat tyre they had. The U turn in episode 8 simply made it inevitable because Jenny and Jelani had the Fast forward.

If they needed more than one person to put up the shelter it really shouldn't have been made a road block. From what I remember shelter/camp etc building is rarely made a one person challenge on the show.

The challenges seemed uniformly good, unusual these days. Just a shame that it wasn't an elimination leg, one of the boring teams would have gone.

Oh jesus no, I despise him with a passion. His smug attitude is revolting to watch; I despise how he keeps making little comments about how weak teams are like Mike and thingy and Hayley and Blair. I just hope one of them beats him as I want to see his tears. But knowing how things go he will win and will have to spend his half of the money having his head removed from up his back side.

Blair is the only winner here :)

God, if I were in a team with Hayley, I would have strangled her by now. Blair is a saint to be able to put up with her, he is like the Zach to the dreadful Flo of TAR3. Is she surprised that other people don't pay any attention to what she says?

A funny moment was when Hayley told Blair to slow down on the bicycle so they were more together. And then, as it was edited, a moment later told him he had to speed up.

I've seen the comparison to Zach and Flo elsewhere and I don't really like it, it seems way too lazy and doesn't consider all the differences. Flo was prone to complete meltdowns but most other times she seemed relatively normal. Hayley has been shown being an irritant for a lot of the time. Zach was about as understanding of Flo as anyone could be, Blair just doesn't want to be around Hayley. Zach and Flo were friends while Hayley and Blair are strangers to each other.
