    I haven't heard of any of them, so I guess I won't be missing much. I was going to stop watching anyway since they fired Arlene, so this makes the bitter pill easier to swallow. I shall miss Ian Waite and Craig RH, but that's about it really. X factor it is for me this year then! :)

    Er, I've only heard of Joe Calzaghe...I don't watch much telly though and not knowing who the 'celebs' are isn't a new experience tbh :)

    This doesn't look like a very strong line up to me, given that a number of well known names have previously expressed interest in Strictly. Looks like there is a big difference in getting the initial interest and getting the celebs to sign on the dotted line.

    I agree that as you follow the celebs' progress, the extent to which the contestants are a, b or z celebs tends to matter less (for example I'm sure Rav Wilding will attract some support although I didn't intially recognise his name) but they do need some glitz to get the initial interest.

    Hooray for the 'celebs'!

    We stopped watching half way through last year, and rediscovered the delights of Saturday nights, but were wondering whether to try again this year.

    However, since we haven't heard of any of them, their 'celebrity' has obviously passed us by, so we'll carry on enjoying ourselves.

    I will miss the lovely and charming Ian Waite, but that's about all. Only a bout of 'flu could make me watch this year, even with the use of the mute button!

    So, Ronnie Wood's missus is deemed a celeb in the eyes of Strictly: maybe for 'I'm A Celebrity... ' but it's pushing it for SCD.

    Who will be the big name in the line up?

    On what I've seen so far my bet is on Paul Daniels, the Krankies or the Chuckle Brothers :(

    I don't actually watch the show but I always look to see who is in it.. I know 3 out of the 5 - more than I was expecting. Although it looks like they're getting a few of the Footballer's Wives cast this year.

    I've got a feeling some of the established pro dancers are already more popular ( and consequently a viewer winner for the BBC ) than some of the possible celebs for this year will ever be.

    Every year people post they've never heard of the stars - who do people expect? Tony Blair, Meryl Streep, Miley Cyrus, David Beckham and Dame Judi Dench? Joe Calzaghe is a major, major British sporting champion, Rav Wilding fronts a range of popular shows, Laila Rouass has performed in a string of tv dramas, mosr recently Primeval. I don't know the others, but I don't instantly therefore think ' oh, they're nobodies. They might turn out to be charming and good dancers - or not.

    Sorry but I haven't even heard of Primeval let alone whoever starred in it!:D

    These days I tend to watch more for the fab pro dances;)

    Maybe the programme will come full circle, ditch the celebs and revert back to the pro competition.

    i completely agree with you s.r :D

    why dont the bbc do one show with pro's and celeb's dancing then in the result show just have the professionals dancing which is it best part of strictly :)

    I dont think they'd have both Zoe Lucker and Laila Rouass... both are solely famous for being in the same TV show that ended 3-4 years ago.. :confused:
