I had thought of BBQ here because the sun is shining. Unfortunately it is also blowing a gale so that's out unless it calms down over the morning.

Yes, sausage toad/toad in the hole. A giant one filled with 8 sausages and served with onion gravy - chilli flakes. coarse ground black pepper and sage were added to the batter mix.

    Today: pork chops and chips

Went out for dinner last night to celebrate my brothers birthday. Had deep fried brie with raspberry dressing then pan fried chicken in a creamy stilton sauce with sweet chilli roast potatoes, carrots, swede and broccoli, was delicious!

Today will be something small as I've eaten non-stop this weekend. Some sort of soup

Pasta bolognaise. I'm making the sauce in my slow-cooker my own way:

minced beef, loads of chopped onion and garlic, grated carrot, chopped dried porcini, mushrooms, passatta, chopped tomatoes, rose wine, dollop of tomato ketchup, herbs (rosemary and basil), plus salt and pepper.

Nice, easy, and delicious, with no nasties (except perhaps the tomato ketchup, a must!) :D

    A nutritionist's nightmare IMO - :o

Hubby bought ready made curry & rice plus extra packet rice - so as not to cook for me, myself alone I'm using up a tin of vegetable curry I bought for 'emergencies' a few months ago. I will add black rice/grass & microwaved pompadoms (sp?) with home made garlic & mint yoghurt.:o:)

It's worth it. Lovely environment and lovely food. Enjoy. Sounds like you need a little "you time" from reading other threads.

Yesterday, home-made potato salad, couscous with harissa, spring onions, broad beans, almonds and rocket, with a spinach, asparagus, mozzarella and blue cheese puff pastry tart, scattered with a few pecans.

Today is spinach and ricotta cannelloni with green salad.
