Well from what I've read and heard they are setting up a brand new big villain. Not saying that rules out some sneaky way of having him return but for the time being Moriaty is done and done it would seem. Though what with fandom being so suspicious these days and the tricksy nature of Moffat and friends even if they had shown a full head explosion, the autopsy, the funeral and then gone back a year later and dug up the skeleton and had a caption flashing up on screen saying HES REALLY DEAD. NO REALLY some people wouldn't believe it.
