Carole King
Will you love me tomorrow; Natural woman; One fine day; Up on the roof; Some kind of wonderful
Stevie Wonder
Superstition; My Cherie Amour; Uptight; If you really love me; Higher ground
Neil Sedaka
Laughter in the rain; Breaking up is hard to do; Love will keep us together; Solitaire
Cymrugirl - did you catch the Neil Sedaka documentary that was on BBC4 recently? Amazing song writer. Solitaire is a real lump in the throat song, and there are others that are equally as good such as The Immigrant. (And we must not forget Amarillo!!).
There's also another Carol King song that always gets me - He's In Town which was a hit for The Rocking Berries. Worth checking out (and don't forget Pleasant Valley Sunday one of The Monkees best and another Goffin/King classic)
Another vote for Matt Bellamy. I think he's brilliant .
Same. I personally think Starlight is the most lyrically fascinating song I've ever hard. I love it. I don't know what it is with Matt Bellamy, but I swear half the songs he writes I can relate to in a way.
Bryan Ferry - Virginia Plain, Ladytron, If There Is Something, Street Life, Love Is The Drug (lyrics), Oh Yeah (on the radio), Same Old Scene, Avalon, More Than This, Slave to Love
