Give them a chance they haven't had an episode yet.

As I said, those Daleks have only been featured in cameos and promos since the end of 2010. Moffat and the team seem to have realised their mistake and the Bronze ones are still reigning supreme - as they always shall!

I must be one of the only people who really doesn't have a problem with the newer Daleks. I think they look cool. :o

    You are not alone! :)

I like the colourful "new paradigm" Daleks. They're like the Daleks (which look a bit retro to me) bulked up on steroids.

I have to concede though, the side/rear view is a bit naff.

yeah my only issue is the hump, but it does show you that the reaction to the new designs hit home with the production team as they must have spent a fortune on them and they have barely been seen since

Well they did make lots of merchandise with them. I think the trouble was they were in great episode with a really stupid ending talking about love will turn off the device which didn't help.

I wouldn't say 'cool', but I agree that I have no problem with the new design.

Granted, remove the huge backside and tone done the bright colours, and I think they would look amazing.

Is it true they were created because BBCA pumped in a few bob and wanted some new toys to sell as a result so they made Rainbow Daleks to produce for merch? Think it was here I read that, or a Dr Who site but always wondered how true that was considering they have barely featured outside of things like this, promo work to add colour.

Were they even in Asylum of the Daleks?

    Yep.

The Doctor talks to a White one and a few Reds can be seen in the background.

I think there was at least one down on the Asylum planet as well.

They also gave them the more metallic paint, and changed the door/hump thing a little. Though they still look terrible if you see them from the side.

My Six year old desperately wants a blue plush dalek, obviously the appeal to kids works

Those plush Daleks are rather lovely, though it sure helps that they left off the hump.

Yeah while I wasn't too fond of the new shape the way they looked like they were made out of plastic in "Victory" was the worst part of the redesign so the new paintwork helped with that.

I thought they looked like someone who used to be thin but then got fat without putting any weight on their face. It's because you knew them when they were thin that they look odd.
