''The Taste'' got really bad reviews from what i read. Rating were low as well in the US.
It was nothing to do with Nigella...she was well received... but a lot of watchers didn't like the format, felt too much time was spent listening to the judges, dislike the whole concept.

I don't think that show will last in all honesty. It will probs be scrapped after the next series.

It all sounds a bit like the X-Factor of food shows and looks a bit cheesy for my liking but I'll give it a go.

    Precisely.

Nobody needed to say they'd seen her doing a line, Nigella had already told the court that yes she'd used cocaine & cannabis in the past. Whether it was 10 or 1000 times we'll probably never know.

and who cares in all honesty...none of our business....

she just needs to get the help she needs if she needs it for her sake and her children.

like she said, her kids have lost their father, they don't need to lose their mother either:(

Yes you're right and I hope she is taking a break with the children and focussing on them in the next few weeks rather than promotion for The Taste and tweeting recipes of the day etc.

LOL, i don't know why i found that funny?

She probably will be promoting the taste.....nothing wrong with that...

I think she is a good mother, having said that no idea why should would let her children smoke weed with her but that's her parenting choice i suppose:o

of course her reputation and her 'brand' are damaged. She was sold as the perfect 'domestic goddess' and been revealed to be a cocaine snorting domestic mess. Delia Smith's career never recovered from being shown to be a potty-mouthed alcoholic, did it?

As has been mentioned earlier in the thread, there is a connection with the Grillos' father's mafia association: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2527290/Mafia-past-Grillo-sisters-father-Mob-member-Michele-jailed-15-years-brutally-kidnapping-fashion-designers-sister.html

Lawson, Saatchi, Grillos? Sounds like recipe for a cookbook — leading to a mini series. ;-)

Nor me, it wasn't meant to be:blush:
I think she's been very lucky career-wise. Some of the pictures she tweets of her late Sunday morning stoner brunches make me go 'really, professional chef'.

I've no idea if she is a good mother or not. I hope she has enjoyed holidays with the children and they haven't always been packed off with the hired aides.

Sopranos mark 2, lady from aristocracy, control freak Iraqi business man and 2 sisters with Mafia links. Could replace The Taste if it doesn't get renewed.

So according to the DM story the Grillo's dad is in a gang that specialises in supplying cocaine and later in the same article mentions
‘We have always sent presents back to Nigella – food mostly, Calabrian salami, jams, local specialities. And this is how she repays us.’

    I'd watch that! ;-)

Here is an in depth from someone regarding Chas' character:

Saatchi on the couch: One of Britain's leading criminal psychologists analyses the advertising genius obsessed by his own public image

It makes chilling reading and, frankly, if correct, I wouldn't blame Nigella getting some kind of drug assistance (if she did) to block out the alleged truth of the monster she was living with. :o

I don't know about chilling, I think more the DM are obviously team Cupcake/Nigella, they called him odious which made me:D
I do agree with them, I think that is a perfect description for him, toadious would be better (he reminds me of a little toad). This is a private thing between Charles & Nigella and they dragged the girls into it for petty point scoring as far as I'm concerned and so I'm glad they were cleared.

I'm not sure they are team cupcake, I thought the mention of mustard was odd but the DM explain why it's significant. I have no idea if it's true, first I've heard of it.

She's a smack head who passed joints and coke round with her children. Yep just the sort of role model we should fully support.

how anyone can condone or excuse drug taking just because she's a nice looking chubster say's more about the hypocrisy here than her iah.

We haven't seen the last of this and I fully expect more details of her hobbies to leak out. Every fleet st journo will be out there looking for her dealer and as soon as they find him they will then need to decide what to do. CS appeared to know about her past time as the nose inspection picture revealed, he too will be planning the next phase of attack after everyone has fallen for the damsel in distress bull.

I haven't been following this hugely closely but i'm wondering where the details of the drug taking has come from? From was i can recall, in response to the allegations of drug taking, she told court that she had only taken drugs on 2 occasions. That i thought was the end of it.

But reading this thread people are mentioning her being a junkie, giving drugs to kids and all sorts. Where has this come from!?

The 2 girls who were cleared of fraud....they said they saw evidence of regular drug use in the house.....

Harsh...she has been through a tough time, but i do agree that she has been let off the hook. We have seen so many drug taking celebs be ridiculed in the media, reputation destroyed (Kate Moss, Whitney Houston etc....), but with Nigella, it seems to be okay, or she has gained the sympathy card.

Maybe its because of her background LOL

Kate Moss's career has blossomed since the drug taking was revealed; her reputation is nowhere near destroyed.

    It wasn't.

She lost a couple of contracts, sure, a drop in the ocean for her, and then it was all conveniently forgotten. She's more successful than ever now, so it's not true that her reputation was or is destroyed.

Saatchi will never let her go. Gawd knows what the POS will pull out of the bag to trash her next, but it's already been planned for, you can bet on that.

I'm a part of #Teamcupcake all the way, go Nigella, go!!

im glad ive seen a thread where people are in support of her as i feel exactly the same as you,i hope Nigella can move on from this and her letter about the courts was spot on ,

Libellous statement - she has never admitted to, or been accused of taking heroin - which is what a smack head is.

i wonder if she will do a sit down with larry king or something or will she just get on with her career and not mention any of what has happened?

I've never ever seen Nigella media-whoring so I doubt she is likely to start doing so now.:)
